Good printer, but some drawbacks

The WF-3520 has good print and copy quality for both text and photos. Speed is very good so long as printing is in standard quality; high-quality printing is slower than competitors. Has separate ink tanks for each color, improving economy. Specs and reviews make a point of the printer's rear feed slot for specialty papers and envelopes. They fail to mention only single sheets can be fed that way! A big drawback if you frequently print on cardstock, etc. Fortunately, the printer does a good job of handling mid-weight papers and some envelopes from the cassette. The printer apparently overheats in a long print job; rather than pausing to cool all the way down, it goes into an extremely slow print mode. I set it to print holiday cards, with two 3x5 B&W photos per sheet; it only completed about 25-30 sheets before slowing to about 5 pages/hour. It is necessary to print in batches to do work of this kind. The standard-capacity cartridges the printer ships ran out of ink in a matter of days. Count on buying the more expensive "extra high capacity" cartridges to get the amount of ink you expect. The printer is exceptionally noisy and has the feel and sound of being cheaply made with the minimum amount of plastic. I hope it will be more durable than that suggests. Set-up is easy but slow. Works well on an Ethernet network and wirelessly. Ability to print remotely via e-mail or Google Cloud Print is nice. Monitoring software is intrusive.

Highly Disappointed

Worked beautifully while still under the 30 day return time frame. As soon as that was up, starting showing three long black vertical lines down all copies printed! If I put it on the glass to copy, all is good but when I put it through the top feeder, the black lines shows up.

Great Value - $/features is amazing

Dollar for dollar, I think this is the best printer on the market. I mostly print black and white professional docs, but the color looks great as well (never printed photos though). I originally bought this for the wireless duplex scanning....but I have yet to use that feature, so I can't comment on the ease of use. I would recommend this printer.

So far so good

I use this printer for personal printing, copying, and scanning. Set up was quick and easy and I was printing/scanning wirelessly within minutes. Have yet to try the fax features. The footprint is much smaller than my older HP that it is replacing. Though it has a lot more plastic and seems flimsier than the dinosaur, it is lighter. It prints quickly and quietly and I like the multiple page scanning feature and the double sided printing and copying. I'm very happy with how well the wireless feature works.

All-in-one printer

I guess I use it for basic home use. There are days it rarely gets used, and then there are days it would get used almost all day. I have had it since last Tuesday. It prints fast which is nice, but I find it really hard to make copies, which I do a lot of. There are too many steps for making the copies. When I cant a copy the same size as the original, I end up with one considerably smaller. I'm also not real crazy about the paper tray and I will never be able to use the rear loading tray because of lack of space to mess with it and having bad shoulders and neck. I have used Lexmarks for about 15 years and really liked their ease of use. They were slower, but when it came to making copies, I could adjust the size of copy I wanted, by using the keyboard and seeing what I was doing on the monitor. I do a lot of genealogy and frequently different family members will ask me to make copies of something for them, and with this printer it take a lot of time. I guess I will have to get used to it being Lexmark no longer makes ink jet printers.

Great scanner

As a printer, it's average. As a scanner, I'm really impressed by the "epson connect" scan to cloud feature. I can scan documents straight to my dropbox. Very useful.

Easy to Set Up

So easy to set up and I'm not a tech person.

Great Printer but BIG Drawback

If you connect via USB and are using Windows, this printer does not support sleep mode or hibernation mode. When you try to come out of these modes the printer causes your computer to freeze up and not restart. I called Epson about this, they know the problem but have not come up with a fix. If I had known this I never would have bought it. Be aware.

An Amazing Printer

I love this printer; it can print and scan wirelessly, and there is a "Scan as PDF" function, replacement ink cartridges are somewhat inexpensive, and it is simple to set up and use, the touch screen is responsive and bright, and you can customize the eco settings. Note: It does not come with a USB cable to connect to a computer, so unless you have a spare USB cable around, you have to set it up through wi-fi.
