I take pics of whatever interests me. Have not yet used it for sports events, sunsets, sunrises etc; but mostly for snapshots around town to have pics with historical time value for the town and area where I live. With a memory card running out of film and having to change film rolls is no longer a part of taking pics. For not being a DSLR it has a very good zoom for distance closeness. It is a very good compact and easy to handle camera with a multiple of picture taking abilities. It is a pleasure to take pictures. The complete instruction manual, as a matter of convenience, needs to be made available in print copy.

In one camera review I read on one of the professional review sites about this camera, it stated that the [$] does not do well in low light. I think that must have been an error, or I have the exception. Mine takes photo's in practically no light. My Canon S3 IS can't do that. The camera is fast enough, however the Scene Recognition mode, and Automatic face detection with red eye reduction tends to slow it down. I knew how to take photographs long before cameras ever had those features, so I still do it the old fashioned way. I set the scene modes myself, and I worry about red-eye later. In regard to shooting speed in evaluating these digital cameras, I don't understand what all the fuss is about. If you need a camera that you can turn on and get to your eye in 0.8 seconds for the first shot, (I acutally saw this listed as a desirable feature in a review of one of these megazoom cameras) you aren't thinking like a photographer. No one ever had speed like that in film cameras, so I don't understand the importance. This is a mighty fine camera and at a great price.
