It's a good bridge camera, ISO goes up to 400 with "good" noise and autofocus usually loses itself, controls are not really comfortable, but for the price, it's great, shoots good ccd quality colors.

Bought this for my wife. The size is good and controls easy to use. She is a beginner and now enjoys taking family and travel photos

I bought this to have more options while backpacking (less weight with lens flexibility). My Cannon Rebel is just too heavy. Haven't got to do a backpacking trip, but overall am disappointed with the consistency of this camera. Some shots are good and some very poor. This camera does not handle low light well at all!! My Cannon Powershot A1100IS is far more reliable and consistently takes better shots in all lighting. The Fuji Finepix may still be good for the hiking, but not much else. I think I will stick with Cannon.

Bought this camera for my wife's birthday. She had an older Canon that was not working well and this camera was a big hit. Easy for her to use and easy to transfer pictures to her computer. High quality camera at a good price.

It's pretty good. There is an issue with the images at times, but it is not a serious one--just with the zoom. At 18x, the picture sometimes isn't as clear as others with less zoom even though it shows up clear in the LCD, but otherwise it is a really great camera. It doesn't happen frequently happen, I'd say it happens in 1/200 shots. Everything else is as mentioned, panorama shots are good, it eliminates shakiness for those of us who don't have steady hands, and has a lot of options for optimal camera use. I don't think that the lenses are interchangeable, so that might be a negative to those who want that option.

While it is not hard to start taking pictures right away the camera does has a learning curve that can be over come by a studious reading of the full manual and then taking some time to try out the various modes. It can be a point and shoot camera on one hand yet allow you to get more involved over time which could be an introduction to more advanced photography.
