So, I thought it was taking me a long time to get used to Windows 8, but it's actually just this terrible touchpad. The buttons are ridiculously hard to push. I'd send the computer back if I didn't already have so much of my stuff on it, and if I could afford to be without a computer for a week. But I'm just getting started on a new job, so I'm going to need to buy a mouse so I can use the computer at a reasonable speed. It's still going to slow me down to have to move my hand over to the mouse, but it won't be as bad as these horrible touchpad buttons. This thing is really slowing me down! There might be a lot of great features on this computer, but to have such a simple and essential piece of equipment so horribly put together makes the whole experience frustrating. I'd probably have some positive things to say about the computer if the whole thing weren't colored by the super stiff touchpad buttons.

Features on this product are awesome. Great display screen. Notebook was almost ready to use right out of the box.

This computer is very sleek and attractive. I don't feel like the pictures give you an accurate idea of what it will be like in your hands, but it's hard to convey that. It is light, but feels sturdy. The rubberized red bottom is interesting - I had read that it allows you to grip it more easily, but I don't think it makes a difference other than it makes the computer very attractive. The black, of course, makes every speck of dust visible. I find myself brushing dust off constantly. I worry that in the future dust will work itself into every crevice and make my computer look filthy. But this is no different than other HP laptops I've owned. I thought that I would hate Windows 8 - but I love it! It is easy to make your desktop look like a much more sleek and modern version of windows 7, and the "modern apps" section is rather separate. If the "metro" (the new start screen) looks difficult to navigate, don't worry - it is easy to find programs because you can just start typing the name of the program and it instantly pops up. I AM disappointed that Windows 8 doesn't allow you to change the colors of the tiles - but that is Windows 8, not this computer. As far as the desktop and the programs you use on the desktop, this computer is incredibly fast and works well. The new apps can be very glitchy. They close unexpectedly. And the battery is built-in, so you can't just pull the battery out if something goes wrong - my computer has completely ceased to work twice, and the CTRL + ALT + DELETE didn't pop up. I'm not sure if these programs will be better with the new update I added today - but if you are going to use the new apps - which are AWESOME and if you use your computer for entertainment, you will, I would recommend customizing this same laptop with a better processor. The HP programs, as in all other HP laptops, are mostly pretty useless. It does come with a couple good programs, and with a couple really nice games. Otherwise if you care, you'll probably just remove them because there are better programs out there. The sound is as good as it comes in laptops. A design flaw in my previously HP make the sound not come out if the front was covered - but this isn't a problem with this laptop. Overall, - Don't fear Windows 8. - This is a sturdy, attractive laptop that works well for everyday use and a little beyond. - If you have high entertainment expectations, get a better processor. Good luck!

Overall I'm more impressed with this laptop then other HP's I've owned. For school it's perfect, and plenty of HD space for classes and iTunes (even with my music collection). Where I wish there was a slight improvement is in the Video Card. It's not shabby, but it lacks ability to render video games smoothly. If you're not using it for gaming, it'll fit your bill just fine.

I absolute love this laptop, its light, and compact yet not too small for a 15". Keyboard is well layout. Boot time is fast. The contrasted color is eye catching, the top is metallic material keeps finger print to the minimum, bottom is red rubberize feel material makes it easy to grip. Get one and you won't regret it. The only complain I have is the delivery company, I saw them throw the package onto my front door. Luck for me the laptop survived the throw.

I regret to say that as a HP user, and fan, I am truly disappointed by this product. The performance is not good, it is slow. Power on and Power off is slow and it freezes. PC freezes with any task I try to do. Apps freeze and always ask for updates, and when I try to get an update, it shows that I ialready own the app and there is no update available, and then I am not able to use the app because I supposedly did not update. The HP pavilion dm4 I had a few years back was so much better. I am not happy with windows 8 either. I like the idea but the performance did not work.

The Sleekbook that's no lightweight. Thin and light, the HP ENVY 6-1110US is the only large screen Sleekbook with Beats Audio. With a soft-touch base that makes it easy to grab and go, it's a laptop that's up for anything.
