I haven't had the chance to use this camera but a few times yet. It has great features and some fun graphics/frames/morphing. I probably won't use those things but I can see how it will be fun for a family. I wanted to use this for web chat with my parents and relatives far away so it is perfect for that use. VERY easy to use and to understand the instructions for the beginner and more advanced for the experienced photographer. Good value for the price.

Installed HP Webcam software and it inactivated my desktop. I could not hightlight or click on any icon. I could not move any icon to the recycle bin. I had to uninstall all Webcam software and use System Restore to reactivate my desk top. Now my Webcam is mounted on my Dell monitor, but does not openate. The HP Webcam mounting system leaves the camera unstable. I need HELP. Anybody?

this product will not retain a grip on the top edge of my monitor. Its grip is PATHETIC!! the length of the base piece is too long for the width of the top edge of the monitor and since my HP monitor top edge has a sloping contour and the base piece (supposed to rest onthe top edge) is a rigid horizontal form, this design obviously was never field tested with HP's products. I have to set it on the top of the desktop case and constantly adjjust its position. the quality of theimage is GREAT, however usability isproblematic.

I like the camera, features and ease of software installation. I was really expecting less for picture quality considering the price compared to more expensive models. Picture quality is excellent, I couldn't be more satisfied. I found only one drawback and that is the way the camera attaches to a monitor. Who ever came up with that idea apparently never tried attaching it to a monitor. All and all it was a simple enough work around using some velcro pads I had. I would and have recommended this webcam. Just be prepared for a few minutes of frustraion attaching it to something.

Very satisfied with the performance with this webcam for Skype. Only complaint has been the counterbalance grip, which slides around on my HP 2511 monitors. I had to use some tape to hold the webcam in place.

i only had two problems with this cam.first the color i just couldn`t seem to get it right.what looked fair to me the person viewing said was poor.the second problem is with the way it sits on the monitor.i have a flat panel monitor and the flexible flap or whatever it is wouldn`t hold the cam in place.it kept falling forward over the monitor.i finally had to duct tape it in place.other then those two things (the two most important) not a bad cam

Webcam works great with the messaging sites. Arcsoft software dosn't work on install.

The quality of this webcam was amazing, much better than the webcam that is built in to my laptop. The effects that come with the software was rather entertaining. The webcam even worked great using only the light of my screen. I would recommend this webcam easily.

Bought this HP Webcam HD-3100 5 mp 720p HD nice holds its own with some of the more exspensive web cams I was amazed at image clearity = pix by frame rate $40.00 bucks great buy works well for recording video's for up loads .The thing i was impressed the most with at the moment is the quality of the webcams built in mike for audio recording does a good job ... for the money works very well with windows live although the down side is that Skype 5.0 Cannot intiate the webcams video hope HP gets a solution up for this so skype works easy with it OR the WEBCAM go back ! sorry, I really want to keep it . Bah just may keep it regardless lol its works that well . A good buy for ya big bang for the Buck
