Very SAD State of Affairs

This started when I got tired of seeing solar powered meters that could perform as well as my 48GX and weighed about three ounces. I went looking for a pocket meter. Like my HP 11C. I wound up purchasing a packaged “hp SmartCalc 300s and a hp 10s Scientific Calculator”. The manuals are written so small that I can not enlarge the pages with discernable clarity. Well, Meters delivered with unreadable, incomplete manuals are worthless. It will cost more that they are worth to return them for a refund. I have a HP 45 that is working perfectly. My HP 11C died years ago, but I have a HP 48GX which is very good but cumbersome and slow for most work... When the HP 15 C came along, I thought OK a replacement for my good old pocket HP 11C. But, the HP 15C.is always out of stock. . It may be that the 300s would work well for me, but I will never know , I do not have a manual that is readable for the 300s or 10 s..

Very good beginning calculator

This is a very good calculator with a lot of features. It is very good for someone who is learning to use a scientific calculator. Example: high school students in advanced math classes. Very good for anyone needing a regular calculator. Excelent value.

I am very sorry, that,

right out of the box, I found it wasn't working. Puzzled!

Display Breaks like a TI

I wanted something with scientific functions and algebraic operation that runs on solar power. This seemed to be it. However, after only a few months the display started to lose the pixels making it difficult to read the numbers. To HP credit (luckily I was able to get a copy of the receipt from Best Buy) they sent me a replacment. The replacment calculator lasted a little longer about a year although with minimal use and the display again started to lose the pixels. Wont buy again or recommend. I tried a HP because this is the problem I had with the TI60X and TI67

You get what you pay for

I was a student looking to purchase a cheaper scientific calculator that I needed for an exam. This calculator was really confusing to use, especially the alpha and shift buttons to get to different features for different keys. They did not appear to work. Also, the numbers on the screen were very faint, even when the solar panel part was exposed to bright sunlight. After two months, the numbers began to display incorrectly, leaving a bare patch in the center of the display panel where numbers would not appear. The only useful features were the two-line display and the ability to scroll back through previous calculations. I will buy a different calculator to replace my broken one.
