We have owned this printer for over a year now and have had incredible results! It has been perfect for use in my Masters Degree school work as well as everyday needs. It is relatively quiet, bulletproof and a joy to use. I would definitely buy this printer again.

Like another reviewer, 'I was forced to buy a new printer when I bought a Windows 7 computer, because HP would no longer support my wonderful HP 1012 printer, which still works great.' However, I learned from HP Computer Support that I could have used my 1012 with the same awkward set-up the tech guided me through. Although I would have preferred to have kept my old printer, this one isn't bad. It is noisier, but faster. I have not yet needed to replace a toner cartridge, but am not looking forward to more frequent replacement than required of the 1012.

The printer is compact and it spits out the first page very fast. That said, the other reviewers are correct, this is one very loud printer! I may put some Dynamat on the bottom to see if that helps. When it is standby mode, it is virtually silent but when you print, this thing is a racket. The print quality is good. The price seemed reasonable but Brother offers good deals, too, for monochrome with wireless even, which this printer does not have built-in. I am using the Ethernet connection and the set-up was pretty easy even though you don't really get a manual or quickstart guide. You get a single page of drawings and steps about how to remove the toner, pull off its tabs, and then re-insert it. I would compare this to what Brother has available. I wouldn't bother with Samsung.

I was forced to buy a new printer when I bought a Windows 7 computer, because HP would no longer support my wonderful HP 1012 printer, which still works great. Although I would prefer to have kept my old printer, this one isn't bad. It is noisier, but I don't think it's as terrible as some of the reviews state. It's faster, which is nice. But I do seem to be going through toner more quickly, and that's after buying a "real" cartridge; not just the original.

I just bought the Laserjet 1505n on 7/4/09 and loved it immediately. Installation was about 15 minutes long and worked flawlessly. Instructions were adequate and the pdf manual covers just about everything i can think of to make this printer work as well as it is supposed to. I am a fulltime student and I take online courses. I need printouts for just about everything. My eyes tire easily looking at the monitor for long periods so I appreciate the clear print.. The 600x600 dpi res is good. All printing is clear and extremely fast. I needed a black print printer and the HP 1505n is perfect for my needs.I highly recommend the HP 1505n.

Easiest installation process of a HP networked printer I've seen yet. I was initially concerned because there was no "Start Here" page - just the printer and the CD and a couple of coupons in the box (fresh from HPOnline). Load up the CD and follow the pictures on the screen and you're up and running in about 10 minutes. We installed this on a Windows 2003 Server and expected to have problems but it went real smooth. Prints fast for its size. The only complaint that I might have is that the plastic paper stand is just a little flimsy and doesn't fit very well. but hey, it's worth it.

I love this little printer. It is compact enough to sit on my 6 foot desk without taking up too much space, yet large enough to give me the quality I have come to expect from HP Laserjets. I personally don't think its as noisy as other laserjets, I can easily talk on the phone and have it printing right next to the phone. It is ideal for my small business with 2 employees, where each person needs their own printer, and its doesn't break the bank. Highly recommended.

What a great product....at this price and given it's compact size every inkjet and all-in-one home user should get one of these for non-color printing. I have 3 kids doing printing and operate my small business from home so we probably use 3000+ pages per year....perfect for this and way lower cost per page than buying all those ink cartridges.

Great printer! Small and fast! To the reviewer that his/her toner only lasted 10 days. It's 250 - 2000 a month duty cycle. I'm thinking that doing 1300 in 10 days you may have the wrong printer for your office.

This is my first laser printer for home use. It is fast and prints clearly. Cartridge that comes with printer is only rated for 1000 pages while replacement cartridges are for 2000. This might explain previous reviewers comment of only getting 1300+ pages out of the box. Setup was easy and printer footprint is small. I'm very pleased with it.

-- beware -- this printer gives out signals which causes headaches. Stay away from this printer. It is extremely noisy and slow. also the quality is bad. (according to the noise it makes-- it sounds like it is a deskjet..) This is a very flimsy machine.

We bought two of these HP P1505n printers. Setup was a snap, and first page out is probably the fastest I've seen of lower to mid class lasers. But then the light came on. Toner out. This printer was installed on March 20, 2008. 10 days later on April 1st, it is out of toner. (No, this is not an April fools joke.) Checking the web interface indicates 1346 pages printed. The online "quick specs" on HP's web site don't indicate the yield, but clicking the detailed specs indicates a nominal yield of approximately 2,000 pages. We can't / won't spend $70 for a new toner every 10 days. Otherwise, this is a great printer.
