Always like HP Laser Printers. They are definitely work horses! Have two 4300 with over 3,000,000 pages printed on each. This is my 2nd 4014. My first already has 500,000 pages printed. I can print cases of paper and never worry about jamming. We run a fulfillment center so the machine is required to print batches of documents up to 1,000 pages at a time. I can walk away and be assured my job will be done when I return, not waiting for me to clear a jam. I gave 4 stars on features for 2 reasons: 1) Would like the ability to force the machine to always print in draft mode to save me toner. A cartridge lasts 7,000+ pages ($0.025 per page) but would love to have it hit 10,000+ pages ($0.0175 per page). Would save me over $3,000 a year in toner! Oh, per machine. 2) Can't believe a maintenance kit is almost 50% the cost of the printer. Get a tech to come do the maintenance and your looking at $400. Maintenance kits should be maybe $150 at the max! Overall a great printer which I highly recommend!

This was a replacement for a 1997 4000 Series laser printer. I print a great number of envelopes and need the 75 envelope feeder. It is very fast and easy to use and install. My old printer was a workhorse and I expect this one will be one too. So far I am more than happy with it. My only complaint is that it isn't wireless.

There is nothing noteworthy about this printer other than it does print at a fast rate, when you can get it to print. Similar to another review, we too have had the waiting game for print jobs. We will tell it to print and it sits there and says ready, 15 min later it prints the job. It just isn't reliable, it doesn't so that all the time so you think well it must not have sent it and you end up printing the same thing several times becuase of the long delay. It will do this from every computer on the network. Most of the time when you tell it to print it is less than 10 seconds for it to start but when it starts acting up it will be anywhere from 3 min to 15 min wait for it to decide to print you job. If your at home it isn't an issue but here as a small office printer it is a real hassle and would not recommend this printer.

Bought to replace a HP LJ 4000 TN that was 12 years old for my small business. Easy setup to my network. In service now for 2mos and have had zero problems. Bit noisey, but not a distraction.

High quality printer. Needs better compability with Windows 7 but the generic software works fine.

My department had purchased this printer; the HP P4014n, to replace an old printer of ours that had stopped working on us. We had purchased the printer; and on the first day after setting it up; it had started printing gibberish, or "machine language". It also had a problem of picking up several sheets of printing paper at once from Tray 2, and was statically clinging them together. I had contacted the technical support here at work for assistance, and we realized we had to update the firmware to resolve the problem. At first, the printer had refused the firmware; but, we had eventually got it updated. The firmware update did solve the printing of machine language problem; but, the printer was still statically clinging pages together. Another problem then began to develop. The printer would receive data to print out, but it would not print anything out for over 5 MINUTES. Working in a high stakes environment where I have to have everything as soon as possible, this is absolutely unacceptable. I do NOT recommend this printer at all. I have tried to contact HP Online Chat Support for help with these problems and I cannot get an associate to respond to any of my inquiries. This is the first HP product that I have used that I am giving thumbs down on. If you want reliability and something to last; don't pick this out; find something better for yourself.
