BD-R instead of a drive
So after buying sixty plus little drives and dropping a few on the ground I said enough is enough. I started backing things up to Blu-Ray data. Works like a champ. This disk are much more sturdy then DVD disks. They are harder to scratch because it seems like some special coating. I backed up 100 gigs of files in about an hour and 15min. Easy to retrieve when you need and they prove to be an excellent backup system. I was able to use my Epson to print on the disk. I did the math and at an average of about $1.50 per disk or less at 23gigs per disk that's over 500 gigs plus a 5 to 8 dollar holder for storing the disk.Works for me.
