Cheap design with plastic plug

from NJ  -  Power user

This is the only USB drive in my home where USB plug is made out of thin plastic. All others have metal plugs. As the result, there is no reliable contact between drive and computer. This drive looks cheap like from the dollar store.

Died in 2 days

Cute drive, but my daughter started using this for a big project at school. After hours of work and saving it diligently to the drive (going between different computers at class and home, so no other way), it starts disappearing off her desktop on the second day of use and shortly will not load at all. Tried it on different computers and it doesn't work at all. Hours of work down the tube. I've used a lot of flash drives and never had one give out. Watch out. Contacted Lexar and they didn't offer any help other than warranty exchange. Doesn't Lexar do any quality control any more?
