Well worth the money...
We ended up sending our Nikon D80 in for service under the Mack warranty three times before it expired. Make sure you keep all of your paperwork (warranty, invoice) together so that it's available if you need to send in your camera for service. You can process a service request through Macks' website very easily. We always got the camera back within 1 to 2 weeks (depending upon what parts were required).

Avoid Mack Extended Warranties
I reside in Sydney Australia and I purchased a 7 year Mack International Warranty for a SLR camera in 2006. I reside in Sydney Australia and I purchased a 7 year Mack International Warranty for a SLR camera in 2006. The warranty stated that it covered 35mm SLR cameras up to $1,000 in value (the camera's value was approximately $900). I registered the warranty online shortly after purchasing it and felt assured that I would be adequately covered should the need arise. Unfortunately, I found out that this was not the case. I lodged a genuine claim with Mack at the beginning of this year to fix a faulty shutter. They informed me that they would not be honouring the warranty because they now insisted that the warranty only covered cameras up to a value of $500. This is despite being shown an invoice that supported my claim that the warranty covered cameras up to $1,000. Mack informed me that they could only provide me with a pro rata refund for a camera valued at $500 which I am yet to receive. This will likely be less than the cost of the original warranty. If Mack were an Australian business I would be afforded consumer protection with The Department of Fair Trading. However, being an international customer I have no avenue of recourse in the US market. I would strongly implore others to avoid purchasing a warranty product from Mack.

Great deal when comes with purchase of new camera
To protect my investment Good price and great coverage Delivery time. A week after.
Mack is a great company and will always come through for you.
I have bought Mack warranties since the 70's. I have only used them once and they actually sent the camera back to the manufacturer and paid for the repair, because they couldn't do it. So if anyone tells you this is not a real warranty...WRONG. Plus, if you decide to sell the camera, it increases your selling price at least as much as the warranty, becasuse it gives the buyer a very warm fuzzy feeling, knowing that if something goes wrong with a used camera they won't be stuck with a big bill. Money well spent. And believe me, I can squeeze a buck better than anyone you know.
How can I rate a item without using it? My printer is still in the box. This warranty can only be rated afte the printer is put in use and breaks down. I hope I never am able to give you an informed rateing! -dch
Personally I hope I never have to use it... This is my third Mack warranty that I didn't need to use the second one, and the first was used a few time for one troublesome film camera I had... Were talking buying the Mack Camera warranty since 1999.
My printer is brand new so haven't needed extended warranty yet, but when I do, and those days surely come, I hope to be glad I bought it.
When things go wrong they usally go wrong badally, I have not seen a better choice for the badly part of the situation than this. It's just worth not having to go through the hassel!
Like all insurance-like contracts all you can do is look at the cost and promises, unless you actually use it. Everything looks good on this one. I bought only a camera back. However, a word of caution, it says it does not cover interchanable lenses and even some things, like batteries, that are sold as part of the original camera.
Hopefully won't have to use it, but as part of the package the price was, right for a little piece of mind
