In my first review I complained about 'panorama' inadequacy. I was a bit too harsh. Actually with my camera locked down solidly there's still enough freedom in the horizontal rotation for fine smooth panorama to be done . . a bit tighter and that locks out as well, the head is much more versatile than I'd given it credit for. **Fragile, the plastic lock-plates on the legs get brittle in extreme cold. I had the unit upside down for cleaning and it fell over onto solid Ice snapping off one of the locking levers. Kind of like to see a stronger plastic for those.

I was amazed at how light the AKB2 actually is, for it's size. At 5'6" tall I can use this model without need to extend the center post = SOLID support. I use this with Pentax K-30 and Sony SLT-A57, both with a wide assortment of lenses, including 300 and 400mm telephoto. I really like the FAST lock down convenience of the Ballhead and snap locks on the 3 section legs. Fast Fast FAST! The only thing I can find not to love is that the ball head (without separate panning lock) is practically useless for panorama work, but the trade off for speed is so worth it.

Really glad I went with the Induro. Did alot of research online and this was the best value! Under $200 for a sturdy tripod with a ball head... cant beat it!
