A perfect fit with a little over hang lip. Constructed very well. More than handle a full frame DSLR. Very excited to use this on some landscape photography. Too bad this product has been discontinued.

Heavy duty ball head suitable for most DSLR applications including telephoto lenses. Smooth panning after level. Fine drag adjustment doesn't add anything you can't do with the main tension adjustment. Ball heads in general are less precise in leveling but can be done if exact precision is not critical. A sturdy tripod will make the difference.

I had to send this head in for repair within a year of purchase. The tension screw broke, so I couldn't loosen the head. Less than 3 months after getting it back from repair, it is broken again. I just bout a new head instead of getting this one repaired again. Garbage.

Great addition to my kit, handles the weight of my wide angles and zooms with ease. Big knobs are perfect for grabbing without struggle.

I had to replace my Pro Master head and decided to go with an entire Induro setup. I'm really not impressed. This head holds my EOS 70D. Aside from that, it's nothing special. I don't like the foot hold/clamp design. I have to tilt the camera sideways and slide it in, then finger tip tighten the clamp before I let go. It's a little cumbersome. I do like that the foot is long. I think the intention is to use it parallel to the body of the camera, but I use it parallel to the lens. This allows me to slide the camera back on the mount a little and achieve a better centered weight. IE, the lens does not pull the front down. Works well with my 16-35. I don't like the drag and lock design. The small knob on one side of the ball is for drag control and the large knob on the opposite side is for locking. Really, they do the same thing. Using the drag knob to try to increase drag does not produce the results I had hoped. The knob itself needs drag to keep it from turning if you touch it slightly and it needs to be a finer thread so that you don't go from tight (locked) to lose and floppy in a 1/8 turn. The lock side performs exactly the same. In my mind, only the lock should do this. I unscrewed both sides and the drag knob (small) does have a finer thread but both of them have the same wedge angle tip which pushes up on the base cup to increase friction on the ball. Bad design. Speaking of the cup, it appears to be basic nylon. Which explains the choppy motion. It's not smooth and the surface coating on the ball is a matte finish and is abrasive. So the ball is wearing away the nylon cup. I've had this thing less than 2 months and have used it for about 10 hours. The ball is coated with white nylon dust from the motion. Not good! The ball motion itself is choppy; probably due to the coating/cup abrasion. This is a VERY annoying issue! I should be able to set the drag, unlock the ball and get a nice fluid motion as I pan, tilt, or twist. Nope. There's nothing fluid about it. I'm thinking a gloss finish on the ball and Teflon cup would be a much better design. The base rotation axis is fluid but the lock isn't so great. Here again, there's not much difference between locked and unlocked. IE, there is no real drag control. I hate the thought of having to spend so much money but I'll probably trade up to an RSS head soon. Or go back to ProMaster for a little while.

Have used it for two very long safaris in tough environments and I am delighted at its performance. Top notch quality and very easy to use. Ball can move with fluid motion and then be locked to hold my 600mm lens with extender very firmly. I have a Markins head as well and they are equal in performance and manufacturing quality, but this one is half the price I paid for my Markins. Highly recommended.

Bought or use with n Induro tripod that would sustain the weight of a D300s and extended lenses, or a DSLR attached to a spotting scope, which is where others have failed in not sustaining initall settings. Fits the tripod very well, very functional ballhead and works well with the Kirk L-bracket. Size, strength, positioning features, etc. Can't wait to really take it in the field. Nothig bad to say about it at this point in time.

I bought this together with the Induro CT313 tripod and it's a great fit. The ball friction is very smooth and the Swiss-Arca style plate works great. I usually have a negative aspect to share in my ratings, but I can't find one here. The combination tripod and head is what I was looking for--sturdy and smooth.

I paired this head with the Induro CT314 legs both support 39.6 lbs. and when locked down this system is rock solid. Simple and easy to use I can easily find and adjust the right knob without even looking at them with gloves on as each is sized different. The arca-swiss mount is industry standard and works with my other heads. Bottom line, you buy a head and legs for stablity and this system delivers at price you can afford.

This is the second one of this ballhead I purchased. Use on on my travel tripod and now on my studio setup. Takes some getting used to after using panheads for years, but I really like the lighter weight and sturdy clamping. I needed to make the change due to a recent break of my right hand. This product really made things easier for me.
