My most frequent use is for wildlife photography with a gimbal head. I wanted a tripod that is extremely stable as well as light weight, so I had 3 requirements: (1) carbon fiber, ((2) 3-section legs, and (3) extends to at least 68" with center post down (I'm 5'-8"). The CT313 satisfies those criteria easily; it would easily accommodate someone several inches taller without extending the center post. I usually mount a Canon 5diii or 7d with 70-200mm f/2.8 or 300 f/4, sometimes with 1.4 extender. The CT313 is completely stable with any of these combinations. It's folded length (28") is less than ideal for travel, hiking, etc.

Been using this tripod for about 2 months now and love it. Easy to carry and setup, plenty of height, I'm 6' 2". Its rock solid with everything I've had on it, from a 20-35mm for long exposure landscapes, to my f/4 600mm. This is a great piece of gear. They do a version with 4 leg sections that folds a little smaller, too.
