About Nikon L26

The Nikon Coolpix L26 Digital Camera (Black) boasts a 16.1 effective MP CCD sensor for superior image quality. Nikon's EXPEED C2 image processing engine provides speedy, faithful image rendering, while ensuring optimum speed and efficiency. The camera is equipped with a 5x optical zoom NIKKOR glass lens with a 4.6 - 23.0mm (26 - 130mm 35mm equivalent) focal length for capturing both wide angle and telephoto shots. You can get great close-ups from as little as 4.0" (10.2 cm) away from your subject. A large 3.0" (7.6 cm) LCD monitor gives you ample viewing room for focusing and playback. The L26 captures high definition (HD) 720p video at the touch of a button.

An intuitive menu makes this camera an ideal choice for rookies, but that's not to say it won't be a fine companion to more experienced users. Your family and friends will surely appreciate your making them look their best with Nikon's in-camera Smart Portrait System, which is capable of automatically retouching and enhancing photos. The system features Smile Timer, a mode that automatically recognizes when your subject is smiling and releases the shutter at that time, ensuring that you don't miss the moment.

Enjoy various color options, including standard, vivid and cyanotype, helping you add a touch of creativity to your next photo or video project. Take advantage of a total of 18 easy to use Scene modes, which automatically optimize camera settings to achieve the best possible results in a given situation. With the Best Shot Selector feature, capture as many as 10 shots and save the best one from the group. You need not worry about blurry images due to camera shake; the electronic VR Image Stabilization system reduces motion blur for crisp, clear photos. Big on action shooting? Use the Sports Continuous scene mode to capture up to 3 shots.

Great Bargain

This camera replaces another Nikon, which I carry in my pocket. Its specs are much, much better, and for far less money. I bought this as a Nikon refurbished for under $50. I believe this camera recently sold for close to $120. I never worry about refurbished Nikons. They may not come in a pretty box, but all the accessory equipment is included. Great value.

Great Little Camera

By

from Colorado  -  Casual Photographer

Got this camera as a birthday gift for my rather advanced 9 year old granddaughter to use on a joint vacation. When I saw it I wanted to keep it for myself but gave it to her as planned. She immediately began taking excellent pictures and was able to navigate all the scene options, zoom, and movie mode. She is planning a power point presentation of our trip for her class with pictures taken from this camera. I opted for a refurbished version unsure about her ability to use an adult camera but it was in excellent condition and she put it to use immediately. I would recommend it to any casual photographer as easy to use and excellent quality and am looking to purchase the same model for my own use.

Nikon is one of the few manufacturers I would buy a Refurbished product from. The camera is excellent.

This is a good camera for personal use

By

from Minneapolis, MN  -  Semi-pro Photographer

I use this camera just as a personal, non-professional camera, and it's great for that. It would be awesome if this camera had an LCD screen on the front (so on both sides). It would also be great if the camera could zoom more, and if the shot would be taken right when you hit the button, without a delay. Despite these suggestions of mine, it's a really nice camera.

Great Little Camera.... Great Price!

By

I got this refurbed for half the price of a new model. All the accessories were in the box. The camera works great! I have not put it through all its paces just yet, as we take it on vacation next week.

More than it seems

By

Simply laid out, quick usage is easy. With some touring through the menus and thought even more can be brought out. Picture quality on the LCD is not the same as on a computer---which is better.
