So far, so good!

OM-D E-M5 is great except for this thing

Ok, it's a minor problem but annoying none the less. I'm not careless with my equipment and still I have to replace the eyecup on my OM-D about every 6 months. Problem is the plastic frame that supports the rubber eyecup and forms the snap on connection to the camera viewfinder is not sturdy enough. If you use the camera, this part will go bye bye, trust me. For the short time this part does remain in one piece and on your camera it functions as it should. Lemon

By

This thing is a complete lemon. The deep rubber cup is great at blocking out light better than the stock eyepiece but the rubber is hard so you can't use it with glasses without it vignetting out the corners. The worst part is the rubber is barely glued on at only three of the thin edges of the plastic attachment piece and not affixed in any other way. Within the first half-hour of using this at a wedding it got knocked off to never be seen again. Avoid this piece of junk like the plague.

Great for sunny days

This is my second copy of this eyepiece, I lost the first one, but is is worth having for added comfort and light blocking on sunny days.

Seems better than original

By

from Portland Oregon  -  Professional

The original eyepiece for my OM-D E-M5 disappeared within a few days' use, same as the hotshoe cover. This one seems perfectly satisfactory and hasn't fallen off yet, but I was not familiar enough with the OEM one to know whether there's any difference. It seems that on several small details like these and the lens hoods they don't include with expensive lenses, Olympus customer concern is not up to the quality of the extraordinary OM-D cameras.

Not for eyeglass wearers.

By

Works well in shielding the LCD from light coming from the side ... but if you wear glasses it keeps your eye too far away from the LCD to see it properly.

Good, not great

By

from SF Bay Area  -  Photo Enthusiast

I was hoping this would be flexible, and deep, enough to work well with my eye glasses. It works, but I'm not sure it's significantly better than the one that ships with the camera. It would be great if Olympus made a model for people that wear glasses!

very comfortable Eyepiece

By

from Bloomsbury, NJ  -  Semi-Pro Photographer

Does a much better job of blocking glare than the one that comes with the e-m5. Although, you do have to smoosh it down a bit to fit the flash on the hot shoe. The e-m5 itself could use some changes to its ergonomics for sure.

Stops Glare

By

from Brooklyn, N.Y.  -  Hobbyist/Enthusiast

The deep pocket of the EP-11 stops sun glare from coming in from the sides of the eyecup and it does it well. I've read that it is easy to have the eyecup knocked off the camera but it hasn't happened to me so far.

Vast improvemernt over the OEM eyepiece that comes with the camera. This one really hood extraneous light from the viewfinder.
