About Panasonic 45-200mm Mirrorless

PANASONIC 45-200mm F/4-5.6 MICRO 4/3

If the PANASONIC 45-200mm f/4-5.6 MICRO 4/3 zoom lens looks powerful, that’s because it is. But there’s more to a good lens than raw power—there’s also a high degree of craftsmanship and design required to make every shot beautiful. Luckily, the Panasonic 45-200 lens succeeds there, as well:

Product Highlights
  • With 1:5 magnification and a 3.3’ minimum focus distance, there’s plenty of room to play with even when utilizing the zoom on your Panasonic 45-200mm lens to its fullest extent.
  • With 13 lens groups and 16 lens elements, the design is sophisticated enough to prevent chromatic aberrations and promote crisp, healthy photographs.
  • At less than one pound (13.4 ounces, actually), this lens is surprisingly light and durable, giving you all the freedom to put it into action.

Panasonic Micro Four Thirds lenses are part of the larger Micro Four Thirds system and are interchangeable with many digital cameras in this format. Bottom line? If you want more out of a lens, we suggest contacting your local space agency.

Learn about the PANASONIC 45-200mm F/4-5.6 MICRO 4/3

When it’s time to take a serious picture, nothing will suffice but the most serious of lenses. Enter, the PANASONIC 45-200mm f/4-5.6 MICRO 4/3. Just one look at it will convince you that it’s substantial. Of course, there’s more to a piece of photography equipment like this than just how it looks on the outside; what’s more important is what’s going on inside. To that end, we’re going to steer you through just a few of our favorite features and characteristics of this Panasonic 45-200mm lens in order to provide a list of everything you need to make one very serious—and seriously good—lens.

  • Intricate design. You’d usually expect a word like “intricate” to better apply to a smaller, more compact lens design. But even a giant space telescope requires intricate designs if it’s going to produce the beautiful imagery of which it’s capable. So, too, is the Panasonic 45-200 lens intricately-designed on the inside, featuring 13 lens groups and 16 lens elements, all structured together to provide a narrower angle of view that makes this lens capable of handling beautiful far-off shots of landscapes and wildlife.
  • Yet one of the advantages of this substantial Panasonic 45-200 lens is that, well, it’s not all that substantial when it comes to the weight. Its paltry 13.4 ounces is lighter than it looks, giving this lens the ability to travel well. And that’s good news, because you’re going to want to take all sorts of outdoor shots with this lens. Adding less than a pound to your travel bag, this lens won’t only justify its own space, but it will be one of the most efficient additions to your photographic toolbox.
  • There is also a surprising amount of versatility in the Panasonic 45-200 lens. The f/stop range of 4-22 and the minimum focus distance of 3.3’ mean that you’ll be able to take close-up shots with more ease than you might have imagined. The lens is crafted for a stunning amount of clarity and crispness for these shots, as well, which means that it offers true professional versatility—which is something rare in a lens of this design.
  • Easily interchangeable because it’s built for the Micro Four Thirds Lens mount systems, you won’t have any trouble finding a comfortable home for your Panasonic lens. And that’s good news, because you can park this lens on a camera body with plenty of processing power if you want to squeeze the most performance out of every shot.
  • Fast and accurate autofocus is sometimes a foregone conclusion when it comes to pieces from Panasonic, but it’s worth mentioning here because of the demands you may make on a lens of this power. It requires fast and accurate autofocus if you’re going to steal that beautiful landscape shot or sneak a photograph of a deer across the horizon.

At Adorama, we offer a wide variety of lenses, but few with the raw power and beauty of the PANASONIC 45-200mm f/4-5.6 MICRO 4/3 zoom lens. But if you don’t want to take our word for it, there’s only one thing to be done—try the lens and see for yourself.

Great perfroming lens

By

from Bay Area, California

I use this lens on my GH4 and love it. It performs well outdoors but not so great in low light situations. For the price this is a feature rich lens that is stellar in performance. When shooting longer focal distances, I do recommend using a tripod as the longer focal lengths will exhibit shake in the images. Presntly use on a GH3 and GH4

Great Lens

By

from California

Using this on my New GH4 its a great outdoor lens. Images are crisp and very sharp. Colors are vibrant and great. Indoor use is ok but in low light situations it's not superb. But stick to using it outdoors and it performs well.

sold it

By

After a lot of soul searching - I realised the most impressive part of the lens was the way it looked on a tiny camera body - basically its "look at me - look at me" value- so I sold it.

Happy with this lens

By

from Warrnambool Victoria Australia  -  Casual Photographer

I bought this lens to give me added flexibility. I have taken it on a holiday to Tasmania where the light is like no other I have seen - and it performed beautifully. The lens doesn't come out a lot but when it does it does what is needed. If you read some advice and keep within the lens aperture sweet spot and you will be rewarded with some very crisp shots. Great for framing distance shots that would normally be ho hum and excellent for architectural detail on buildings of interest. I have had very good hand held results that range from snow to bright sunlight to cloud and indoor macro photography of detailed quilting. Autofocus is quick and accurate and manual focus is also easy to use. The lens is not an every day kit lens but it does exactly what I needed.

Compact, Lightweight, Sharp,Impressed

By

from Bethel ME  -  Semi-pro Photographer

I bought this to add to my GF1 GX1 system, to keep a lens on each body, I am very pleased with its quality and color. It does creep a bit in low light, so in such cases I just switch to manual focus, but my most uses are outdoors daylight and for this purpose is fabulous

It was what I have expected

By

from West Los Angeles  -  Photo Enthusiast

When I saw this lens I was so happy. I have a Olympus Pen E-PL 1 and it worked very well with it. I was first very concern because this is the only lens I have that is not Olympus and worried that it may not work very well. As I practice and use it, it gives me the result I wanted. With this price, you should own one. I have no complain so far...

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
MARK H  I already own the 14-45 so the perfect second lens for my GF1 GX1 system is this 45-200 i am very pleased , it has a few low light hunt problems with the AF but only intermittently...as for sharpness its tack sharp in daylight at F8 or F11 which is where i normally like to shoot..I am very pleased
Shopper  This lens is for use with the Lumix G10, correct?
ANDREAS C  Hi , i am using it with my Olympus EP2..and workd great...all the m4/3 work with panasonic and Olympus
Shopper  Need to know if this lens will fit the Olympus ODD E-M1 or M5?
ROBERT H. S  Hello, I have used this Panasonic lens on both an older Olympus EP-2 with a VF-1 finder with very good results, and I am completely satisfied with the lens on an Olympus OM-D M-5 which I also own. Nice sharp lens, works well on AF/ with Manual focus override. Faster with more reach than the Olympus 40-150 lens. Can use either Olympus built-in anti-vibration (best with OM-D M5) or use the vibration reduction in the lens (best with EP-2, as it doesn't have 5-axis anti-vibration as does the OM-D M-5). Excellent lens for a decent price. Nothing shabby about it for being small in size. Would like to see a faster version (maybe f3.5) come out actually.
