About Panasonic DMCFZ70

This Panasonic DMCFZ70 Bundle comes with $69.95 worth of free accessories including a Lexar 32GB SDHC Memory Card and Shipping is free! .

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ70 Digital Camera is a bridge-style point-and-shoot digital camera that features a 16.1 megapixel High Sensitivity BSI MOS sensor and Venus Engine image processor to produce high resolution still imagery and full HD 1080i/p video with notable low-light quality. The combination of the processor and sensor enable a native sensitivity range of ISO 100-3200, which can be further expanded to ISO 6400. The processor also affords a wealth of speed to the camera, including the ability to record up to 9 fps in a 3 shot burst, 5 fps with one-shot AF or 2 fps with continuous AF.

The built-in Lumix DC Vario 60x optical zoom lens provides a 35mm-equivalent focal length range of 20-1200mm, covering wide-angle to telephoto perspectives for working in almost any shooting situation. Benefitting this extensive zoom range is POWER O.I.S., which works to minimize the appearance of camera shake when working with greater zoom magnifications and under low-light conditions. This image stabilization system also features an Active Mode that is well-suited to creating steady HD movies by countering the appearance of camera shake in a variety of directions.

Full HD 1080i video at 60 fps is supported in the high quality AVCHD codec and greatly benefits from the inclusion of a Wind Shield Zoom Microphone and Dolby Digital audio quality. The built-in stereo microphone works to significantly reduce wind noise in order to provide clearer overall audio quality. Its zoom design is also well-paired to the zoom lens to help achieve natural sounding recordings.

For image monitoring and playback, both a 3.0" 460k-dot LCD monitor and a 0.20" 202k-dot electronic viewfinder are available as bright, clear means for viewing. Also extending the functionality of the FZ70 is a hot shoe to facilitate the use of an external flash and an HDMI port for linking the camera to an HDTV for vivid image playback. A host of creative effects are available too, for enhancing the aesthetic appearance of both still images and movies in-camera.

Great Camera for the Price

I have owned several Panasonic cameras and they all have met my expectations, including this one. I am using this camera for real estate and nature photography. The other thing that I find is that I do not have to do a lot of PhotoShoping to enhance the pictures, as the quality of the original photo is very good. Unlike a couple of other reviews, I thoroughly checked out this camera before my purchase to make sure it had and did the things that I needed and expected it to do, and I am totally happy with my purchase of this camera and the quality of the pictures. I found it easy to learn some of the new features and find that it is going to be great to incorporate into one of my hobbies, graphic art.

Poor design

Well - there's been a fan fare hasn't there? I rushed out and bought one. Then the fun started - couldn't buy the accesories, MACRO enhancer DMW-LC55 and Lens adaptor DMW-LC55. Nasty shock. Then I found a major design flaw - the LED screen does not hinge up or down thereby eliminating many of those macro shots taken from side on. Nor could I use a tripod to photograph the moon, it would take an expert contortionist to achieve that. I didn't check this feauture because I never thought it would...

I didn't check this feauture because I never thought it would be excluded from a camera of this type. I wouldn't have bought it had I known and besides all this, other than the 60X zoom (Grainy), this is an altogether unremarkable camera. Forget the hype and fanfare - it is a LEMON!

I am still learning about my camera. I have mostly taken pictures outdoors only and the photos looked excellent. I will have to practice taking pics using different settings before I can comment on that.

I have several digital cameras that have two or more interchangable lenses; macro, wide angel, telephoto, etc. All are great cameras but are heavy and require a large camara bag to carry the equipment. The Panasonic Lumix is a high quality light weight camera that takes cyrstal-clear pictures with up to 1200mm. Outsatanding Value !

This camera started me on a new life path!!

By

from Spring, Texas

I know this sounds strange, but this camera was the one I used to create such gorgeous pictures that it started me on my way to becoming a professional nature photographer. So easy to learn on, crisp, colorful, amazing shots were generated by this camera. Incredible micro close up and zoom images. I was even able to get great shots of the blood moon!!! People seeing my shots were asking me what kind of camera I used thinking it was some mega/multi lense thousand dollar camera. Others requests for copies of my pics was amazing to me. Okay, you can read the specs here on line, these comments come straight from someone who experiences using this awesome camera.

The best P&S camera

By

from Woodinville, WA, USA

I was a Nikon man for 45 years. Just before the last Christmas, I bought a Nikon Coolpix L830 but I couldn't hold it still due to the weight of camera with 4 AA batteries and no viewfinder. I returne it and bought a LUMIX DMC-FZ70. With the viewfinder I can hold it steady. (Battery life is much longer using viewfinder.) I shoot almost every day and am trying all the features it gives. Lots of fun! This has given me a fun and joy to my retired life. Thank you, Panasonic.

great camera

By

from Dayton, Ohio

This is a very good camera for not being a DSLR. I was tired of carrying all the extra lenses and large bag I needed for DSLR. This is a great camera for vacations. The zoom is very good, and the auto takes very good pictures. Many modes and scene modes to experiment with. Not a DSLR but a great sub for one. Picture quality is excellent.

Zoom Zoom Zoom!!!!

By

from Midwest

This camera's zoom has exceeded my expectations. While the auto focus might not be what you are needing... and it could use a simpler interface.... It is by all means the best camera I have ever owned (Nikon d300 is now on shelf). I shoot wildlfe photos and this thing is so portable... I used to have to carry a bag that weighed 10lbs full of 3grand in lenses to have what I get from this.. which goes into my edc bag and give me better zoom.
