Too slow and I would like a choice of resolution output

Software could be better

from Mauritius  -  Casual User

I managed to process about ten slides an hour. While one was being scanned, I added info and basic retouches to the digital download using PSE 10. I used it on both PC and Mac, and found the Mac verstion better. If only one could save one's preferences. Each time it is powered up, you need to go through the whole preferences sequence. My purchasing experince at Adorama was faultless and the scanner arrived on our tiny island in the Indian Ocean four days after it was picked up from New York.

Questions about this item:

Arlene E  i just got new MacBook Pro with retina display running 10.8.2 Mountain lion. can you tell me if that will work with this scanner?
MARC E  I have only Windows PC's and, so can't give a first hand account. According to the website it is compatible with Mac OS 10.4.8 and later. Hope this helps...
Arlene E  thanks, it does, but i will check to be sure before purchasing.
ANDREI S  I only used the scanner with Windows 7, but given the driver backwards compatibility, it should work just fine in 8. Actually, the latest drivers from the manufacturer show they are compatible with 8, too. Check it out on their site (Pacific Image)
Gregory M  Where can I get a copy of the software needed for this product..???
JANE C  I needed a slide and film scanner for hi-rez images that will be published. This scanner was, frankly, terrible. It left skid marks over certain bands within the image. I threw my machine away and ended up getting an Epson Perfection V500 photo. This machine scans hi-res images from slides, negatives and photos and documents with no distortions.
