About Samsung WB250F

The Samsung WB250F Smart Digital Camera (Gun Metal) is a point-and-shoot with a 14.2MP Back Side Illuminated CMOS image sensor. It's equipped with a 3.0" TFT LCD screen with 460K pixels. The 18x optical zoom wide-angle lens lets you get closer to your subject while fitting more in the frame. It has an effective focal length of 4.0-72mm (35mm equivalent: 24-432mm). Capture Full HD 1080p video at 30fps. Benefit from full Manual mode with Aperture Priority and Shutter Priority for complete creative control.

The camera's CMOS sensor helps capture clear, detailed images in low light, even without a flash. For the times when you do need it, though, the camera features a built-in pop-up flash. Smart Mode gives you various special shooting modes from which to choose for different situations, helping to ensure the best shots in all conditions.

Smart Camera features include Wi-Fi, email and a dedicated Direct LINK hot key to help you quickly connect to Wi-Fi networks. Download the Samsung Smart Camera App to get Mobile Link, Remote Viewfinder and AutoShare, rather than downloading each individually. Instead of launching the apps one at a time on your smartphone, you can open all three simultaneously with the touch of a finger.

Mobile Link lets you select and send an image or album directly to an Android smartphone, iPhone or tablet; you need not even send the image as a text message or as an email. Make updates to the album on your phone and the changes will be saved to your camera, too.

The Remote Viewfinder function enables you to control your camera by using your smartphone as the viewfinder (available for select smartphones). You can preview images, adjust camera settings, zoom in and out and frame each scene. AutoShare allows you to simultaneously send every picture you take to your mobile phone via Wi-Fi. Just set it up once and the camera saves it as the default setting. AutoShare also GPS tags your photos with your smartphone.

MS Skydrive provides access to the cloud for file sharing and storage. Upload your photos and videos to social media sites like Facebook, Picasa and YouTube and enjoy easy wireless transfers of photos and videos to your PC or Mac with Auto Backup. Also enjoy AllShare Play, which lets you connect to all devices that support it. Wirelessly stream photos and videos from your camera to nearby devices to share with friends and family at once, or simply upload to web storage instantly for easy management.

Samsung WB250F Features

  • Capture properly exposed images in low-light situations with the 14-megapixel BSI (Back Side Illuminated) CMOS sensor, which needs less light than conventional sensors
  • The Hybrid Touch User Interface offers 2 options. The 1st is to use the 5-way button to quickly move the cursor up, down, left & right to intuitively navigate the menu & make selections on display. The 2nd is used when you want to enter text, such as an email address, for when you're sharing photos
  • Capture 1920x1080 Full HD video with life-like color and sharp detail. Shoot longer, too--the camera's H.264 format allows longer recording than a camera with MJPEG video does. When you're done, you can watch your HD footage on an HDTV
  • A quick tap of Smart Mode and you're set with various special modes. Capture trails of light at night on a busy intersection full of red taillights, or instantly capture a high-speed scene with Sports Capture
  • Focus manually or use the TTL autofocus, with the following modes: Center AF, Multi AF, Tracking AF, Face Detection AF, Face Recognition AF, Selection AF
  • Allows you full creative control. Aperture Priority and Shutter Priority settings let you experiment with shutter speeds and depth of field in different situations, e.g., when you're shooting fast-moving images in low light
  • Use Best Face feature to travel back in time after you've taken a picture to replace faces with the perfect moment that was missed the first time around. Open closed eyes, replace a smile, or find an expression you prefer more than the one captured in the image
  • Freezes the action around a moving subject to create a high-impact effect. Simply shoot the footage and then rub the area on the display where you want to keep the movement. The photo around it will freeze
  • For video editing, the camera has functions: Pause during recording and playing, Still Image Capture, and Time Trimming
  • For still images, it has Smart Filter, Resize, Rotate, Trimming, and Image Adjust. Options for Image Adjust: Off, Red-eye Fix, Face Retouch, Brightness, Contrast, Saturation, and Add Noise

nice camera but....

I liked this camera and really liked the features until one day I went to email a photo and I couldn't...I got the MSN website instead. So I called Samsung and they told me it was a hardware problem and to send it back for repair...I simply returned it for a refund and now am researching another camera.

I'm a Camera snob

By

from Undisclosed

Normally point and shoot cameras annoy me more than anything. I picked this one up intending to let my oldest daughter have it, but after using for a short time it has become one of my favorites and only one of two point and shoots that I have liked. Love the direct download & email pic features. The photo effects on the camera are fun and the one that lets you take different images in multiple frames creating a collage/spliced photo effect works great. The zoom is excellent and picture quality itself is great. It does have a little trouble catching action scenes, but you can capture those when using the video feature. Would definitely recommend it, it works great for quick shots. Only complaints are I wish the body was a little sturdier and the pop up flash was poorly designed.

So glad we bought this camera. It has all the bells and whistles that I wanted, while easy to use. Small enough to be taken anywhere. Pictures are clear and color is excellent!

Samsung WB-250F is loaded with features

By

from Memphis, TN, USA

I purchased this camera 6 months ago and have not had any issues with it. Other than, say, getting acquainted with all of its features. I find the remote viewfinder app to be very useful with my S3 phone and easy to use. While searching the features/functions of picture and video, one can easily manipulate the "auto" selection of the dial menu to start taking great pictures. I am not a pro photographer by any means, but I do have plenty of years behind me in taking pics with good and bad digital cameras. For Me, this WB250F by Samsung brings together the ease of use of a beginner point and shoot with the clarity and detail of most premium DSLR cameras. Better than average battery life, 1080p videos, great picture quality, tiny but accessible buttons, and a difficult to get clean lcd screen, are the obvious things to me.

WB250F. Nice Camera however...

By

from Vermont, USA

I did a lot of research before deciding on this camera. The reviews were the biggest selling point for me. I purchased a package deal with a few extras and was very excited when it arrived. I must say it was not long however before I was becoming disappointed. On the plus side it is compact and sturdy feeling. 50% of the photos from my Yellowstone Trip only needed a little editing to be satisfactory. The low light mode is great and the wifi seems to connect and send photos as it should. The video and image stabilization works very well and at high resolution may be sharper than the photos. I bought the camera for the optical zoom capabilities which had great ratings in all the reviews. Mine however is an exception. Even with a high quality tripod and bright sunlight the photos are out of focus. After updating the firmware it was no better. I have tried manual settings, smart settings and still only 1 out of 8 zoomed photos comes out reasonably sharp. The odd thing is that they look very sharp on the screen until you take the photo, you can tell right away when the photo is reviewed that it was not in focus. After downloading the photos I also discovered that there seems to be no orientation marker in the information which causes me to have to manually rotate and re-save the photos. Overall I gave the camera a good rating. For the average user it is probably fine however I expected a bit more from it.
