This camera uses a very odd video format. Video looks great only on my camera but anywhere else it looks terrible. This makes it very difficult to share my video with family. My father doesn't even know how to play this format. The touch screen is nice, but you can't see it in daylight and its impossible to even frame images in sunlight let alone use any of the other functions the camera has. The camera has great image and video quality, but whatever software it is using is incapable of doing the fantastic lens and image processor justice. It is tricky to get good images out of this little camera. A real shame as it has the hardware to take wonderful images. Images are often out of focus, poorly exposed and as stated early poorly framed due to the difficulty you will have seeing what you are trying to take a picture of.
It is disappointing that each new model comes with a differente type/size batery & memory card. I have a previous model of Sony Cyber Shot camera and I am not able to use the old batery and memory card on this camera! I think manufactures should be required to standarize the items (bateries, memory card, ports and cables) they use and only change them when the become obsolete
Flash is not that much as expected..Not good in low light.
I bought this camera for my girlfriend to use on a trip. The pictures and video she came back with were simply stunning. She found the camera easy to use, full of fun features and the results stunning. I was particularly impressed with the video. For a small point and shoot camera, the HD video quality rivals some much more expensive video equipment. Of course you're at the mercy of the lighting you're given etc. but if you're looking for a good "all-around" point and shoot this is your answer!
This is my fourth Sony Cyber-Shot camera and I love it! It lives up to the reputation of being a Sony pocket shooter with a great lens, easy to use features, and great build quality. I bought the TX100V to replace my aging N2. It's lived up the the image quality of the N2 and even get's close to the color correction of my Canon DSLR with filter. The HD video is as crisp and clean as you'd expect from a camera shooting full HD. My only complaints have to with the screen. It seems like the touch-screen suffers from the same back-lighting issue that plagued the first iterations of the iPad. In direct sunlight, the screen is almost impossible to see making the camera features almost useless. Also, all the controls are on the touch screen as well. So, when you are taking a photo and you accidentally graze the screen, you can send it into a different mode without realizing it. Short of those two slight problems, this camera is a winner!
I purchased a sony cyber shot dsc100 5 years ago - the best compact camera ever- worn it out! Thinking the quality of sony would only improve, I purchased another sony cyber shot dsc tx110v- so disappointed - starting with the lens cover is very hard to OPEN -- even though the screen is suppose to be larger, it has so many icons you cannot clear which makes your view smaller - very confusing - instructions were almost none - the lag time in shutter is so long you miss a lot of "moments" waiting on recovery - the on/off button & pic button aren't easy to operate - can not think of one good feature of this camera - will try to return it - very disappointed in Sony
Very easy to access the many features. Delivers quality images
i've had this camera for a year and a half and it works great. i have no complaints.
