About Kata LighTri-31

The Pro-Light LighTri-317 PL is a multi-featured professional Torso-Pack designed to provide the best carrying, storage and working solutions. Specially formed foam encased spring steel Spine Guard for ultimate structural protection, light yet durable RipStop fabrics & meshes, Aeriform foams and Spider Webbing straps all join together to create a protective and light carrying solution and the fantastic modularity allows you to make it even lighter by simply removing components that are not necessary for your everyday work.

The LighTri is uniquely designed to keep your DSLR in quick-draw position at all times and the top flap features both a right and left "pull to shoot" opening. Carry your gear either on your back or on your torso and simply switch from one position to the other by swinging the bag from back to front to grab your camera for shooting.

For a long haul a second balancing strap can be used for comfortable transportation. The main compartment will hold a Pro DSLR with up to 70-200 mm lens attached in top grip position. Use the Aeriform Dividers to create compartments alongside the main camera set-up for additional lenses, flash or other accessories. A large front pocket and discreet rear pocket are perfect for storing personal effects while an independent lens/accessory pouch is included and can be connected to the side of the bag when additional storage is required.

Close Friends, Closer Cameras

I keep my Sony A900 with battery/handgrip and 28-70mm zoom attached plus a 70-210 zoom and 55mm normal in the main compartment. I store my flash, bracket, Manfrottoo table-top tripod, extra cards and batteries in the other zippered compartments. This sits high and tight across my chest, making a quick shot easy and my gear secure from slash and grabbers.

Questions about this item:

Craig J  How does this compare to the UL-LT-318? Are you happy with your purchase?
GAYLA S. G  They are essentially the same bag, the only difference being the color and a few ounces in weight. I have the 317 and love it. It fits exactly what it says it will. I have my 5D Mark II, with battery grip and 70-200 mounted in mine. I also have another lens, flash and a couple misc items. Everything is well protected. I can also wrangle my iPad in to the outside pouch, but it's a tight fit and not as we'll protected as the other gear. You'd have to have a minimal iPad case. There's a back zippered pouch too that I have a couple filters in. It's a great light carry for a day bag or when you are willing to leave all your other accessories behind. Great quality, nice bag.
John D  Will a Nikon D300 with MB-D10 battery grip and 18-200 mm zoom fit?
SUSAN R  Yes. Very Nicely.
Shopper  Will a Nikon D300 with battery grip and 18-200mm fit?
DON M  My wife and I just returned from a photo trip to the Carlsbad Caverns. I configured the interior of the Kata Pro-Lite 317 PL to carry her new Canon 6D with 24-105 f/4L lens and shade attached, my Canon 40D with 28-135m lens and shade attached. The cameras were back to back and both cameras were easily accessible by simply lifting them out by their shoulder straps. I still had room to carry the lens shade for the 17-40 f/4L in the small end of the interior of the bag with the lens in the exterior lens pouch. I believe with a little configuration of interior pads your camera will easily fit.
