About Kirk BH-1

The Kirk BH-1 Ballhead with Quick Release is a rugged and well-designed ballhead. It features the same efficiency of design and rugged construction that make other Kirk products so popular. Weighing just 30 oz, this head is rated to support up to 50 lbs. In addition to the large single-action locking knob, the BH-1 also features two smaller knobs. One controls the 360 degree panning control and the other the amount of ball friction.

The BH-1 ballhead comes with a universal quick release clamp that is compatible with all Arca-type plates. All external components are crafted from tough 6061-T aircraft aluminum including the solid, captive-design knobs and the internal metal parts are stainless steel and brass to avoid corrosion. The ball cup is produced from self-lubricating Delrin composite.

Kirk BH-1 Features

Questions about this item:

Shopper  are the panoramic markings OK?
STEVE R  Yes, but a little small
Robert W  This is probably a silly question, but I am going to ask it anyway: Will the Kirk BH-1 Ballhead fit on a Gitzo GT 2531 tripod?
KEVIN K  It fits perfect on the Gitzo's 3541 and 3531, I traded in the 3531 for a 3541 which is a perfect match height for my eqipment without having to raise the center bar perfect for travel since it folds up so small. The 3531 was to tall where I would always need to lower the lower legs to use.(I.m 6ft) The 2531 is lot lighter, but I didn't get because I need to more sturdy 3541 for my very heavy equipment. But I know this doesnt answer your question because I only looked at the 2541 at store never tried the Kirk on it, the Kirk might be a bit overkill on the 2541 maybee you can get a lighter ball head to match up with the lighter tripod. But the Kirk Is an awesome ballhead
