Nice bag (albeit pricey)

from Silicon Valley, CA  -  Semi-pro Photographer

Ordered this bag as a Mother's Day gift for my wife. It seems like a pretty nice bag, BUT it wasn't as large as I expected from the product photos on Adorama's web page. I thought it would be large enough to serve as both a purse AND a camera bag for her SX40 superzoom camera while on vacation -- but alas, no, it's only big enough to use as a camera bag. Granted, it is more STYLISH than her plain black camera bag. It's pretty well padded inside, so her camera should be pretty safe in it. One benefit is that it looks like purse, NOT a camera bag, so it won't be obvious that she is carrying a camera. Although, a purse may be as much of a target for theft as a camera bag, so that may or may not be helpful :-). And if she has to carry both a purse AND this camera bag, then it may be obvious that they are not both purses :-). It seems pricey for what it is; at over $100 I'd expect 6" of padding, a solar battery charger, and GPS tracking built into the thing. But I guess tripling the price is to pay for the "designer" factor, which I just don't "get". But then, as a man I am genetically inhibited from detecting or attributing ANY value to "designer" names ... if you don't happen to suffer from that particular genetic "flaw" [i.e., you're female], you may think it's worth twice the asking price -- who knows? ;-). p.s. my wife seems to like it, so that's the real bottom line.
