About Kramer Electronics VM-2HDXL

The Kramer VM-2HDXL is a high-performance distribution amplifier for SDI (SMPTE 259M and SMPTE 344M), HD-SDI (SMPTE 292M) and 3G HD-SDI (SMPTE 424M) signals. The unit takes one input, provides reclocking and equalization and distributes the signal to two identical outputs.

clyde j  will this accept a video signal from a video surveillance camera and amplify the loss on the line due to distance?
COLE P  Clyde, as long as your video surveillance camera has SDI or HD-SDI output it should accept the signal. And because it's an amplifier, it should give you a better signal on your longer distance run. If you do buy it, I suggest trying the amplifier at the front of your run, in the middle, and at the end of your run to see which gives you the best signal. Hope this helps!
