THJE LENS COVER TAKES THREE HANDS TO INSTALL. NOT USEFUL TO ME AT ALL.
I bought this for my new Canon 200-400. Lenscoat hoodies work great to protect the lens from dust, debris, and scrapes. They are light weight but tough.
I bought this for my Canon EF 300mm 2.8 IS version I since the leather cover that came with the lens was so bulky and couldn't use it on the lens when my lens is not reversed. This is small and flexible and fit very nicely on the lens hood, not reversed, with LensCoat. With the great price, I am very happy with the purchase.
This hood is so much better that the lens hood cover that comes with the large Nikon lens. The factory hood cover is large and a real pain to deal with, this replacement Hoodie is just excellent, it doesn't take the room that a factory hood cover does and is easy to install and remove. I don't think you could get any better that this product for it's intended use.
It protects the lens of my Canon SX50. The takes the place of the lenscap and protects better.
We all know how exciting it is to add a special filter to a lens - then we discover that the old lens cap (and typically, the hood) no longer fit. This is the solution I found to solve the problem. Well constructed, does what I need it to do. I only wish it had a drawstring or something on the back to "close down" around slightly smaller lens barrels. Otherwise, it's a great product!
Use it when I'm on the go and don't want to fool with lens cap. It's like having a snug sock on the end of my lens. It would be nice if there was an easy grab pull tab(s) becaus it's a bit difficult to quickly pull off and put on. Other than that it's great.
I have a Zeck lenscap for my 500L but usually don't use it while shooting as the hood attached makes it difficult to put on the lens. The Hoodie is on and off easily with the hood on.
If you want to keep a Cokin ring attached to your lens, this hood is for you!
I bought this Hoodie to replace the metal cover that came with my 15mm fisheye. I have external lens pouches on my Kenesis bag and the metal cover on this lens would always come off when I pulled it out of the pouch. Now with the LenCoat Hoodie on the lens it comes right out of the pouch with the cover still in place. I have a LenCoat Hoodie on my 400 2.8 so it was a no brainer to buy one for my Fisheye.
