I bought this computer primarily because it was light weight and I needed a cheap computer after my Mac died. Still more of a Mac person myself, but I'm getting used to the whole PC thing. Don't like how easily they get viruses but I guess that's just typical for every PC, not just this one. In terms of this specific computer, you should know THERE IS NO CD DRIVE. I haven't minded not having one,but I've read other reviews where the person had no idea that it didn't come with one. I pretty much just use this computer for school work: looking stuff up on databases, writing essays etc. Not the fastest computer around, or the most powerful one, but it does its job. The only real problem I've been having with it is that it takes FOREVER to start up. Other than that it's pretty good....

The Lenovo IdeaPad S400 14.0" Notebook Computer features a 1.8GHz Intel Core i3-3217U processor, 4GB of DDR3 1600MHz RAM and a 500GB hard drive. But what sets this ultra thin (less than a 1 inch profile) notebook apart isn't its powerful processing speed. It's the fact that you are getting Ultrabook-like quality for a remarkably affordable price.
You can always enjoy content on the 14" Active Matrix TFT Color LCD with LED backlighting and native resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. But whenever possible, the HDMI port lets you watch high-definition content on a larger monitor or HDTV. This notebook also features WiDi connectivity, so you can stream digital media wirelessly to any WiDi enabled display.
Other Ultrabook-mimicking features include the exclusion of an optical drive, USB 3.0 connectivity and a 2-in-1 card reader. An integrated 720p webcam and microphone, integrated keyboard with touchpad and integrated stereo speakers with Dolby Advanced Audio V2 technology round out the list. Networking involves the integrated 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi and the 10/100Mbps RJ-45 Ethernet LAN port. The less-than 1" profile, 3.97 pound weight and 5 hour battery life make this a smart buy for a PC user that wants mobility and stylish design without paying a premium price.
