Well made, fits my 50mm 1.4 and costs much less than Canon brand. Hey, it's only a lens shade.

Was happy to find a less expensive, yet high quality alternative to the Canon brand hood for my 50mm/1.4. Only missing element is the felt like interior lining and secure snap-like locking feel when screwing on name brand. Still stays on firmly though once sweet spot is found. Great hood overall.

Hood works fine, does as it should, although it can accidentally come off at times.

We purchased this item so we would have the option to take the matte box off of our camera setup and still achieve decent contrast in a very bright setting (shooting video, snowy midday at an ice carving competition). It served that purpose well and also saved us from having to clean snow off of our filters every other minute like we did with our other lens which didn't have a hood.

Purchased a 50mm 1.4 lens but canon doesn't include a lens hood so I needed one for shooting out doors.

The item is not the same as picture described. I'm very upset about its quality, and it's definitely not worth [$]. I could buy this same hood on [@] for $2.

brick & mortar store showed [$]for a Canon lens hood. Online store showed [$] and Adorama had this one for [$], so I tried it and like it.

Great addition, cheap, and does the job perfectly. After using this, I don't actually see the point in spending for the Canon OEM one?

I'm happy to have picked this up for much less than the Canon-made version. A bit worried about the long-term durability, but at this price point that is a small concern.

Works just as good as an official hood. I purchased for only [$]

The only complaint I have is that while tightening onto the lense, you can feel to where it should stop and click into place, but you can actually just keep turning it around and around. It does stay on and in place, and for the price it works wonderfully for me.

This lens hood is also reverseable just like the Canon lens hood.

I bought this for my 50mm f1.4 lens and fits perfectly. For the price, I think it is a good buy to protect your pricey lens and shade your lens from harsh light source. Easy to put in and out of lens. Sturdy built.

What a great replacement for the $ Canon hood. I was going to order the Canon hood but Adorama had it on back order. So I chose theirs and wow my pro-photographer roommate could not belive the quality nor could I. It was sturdy and looked every bit like the Canon hood. I would recommend this hood to everyone. At the end of the day a hood is to reduce lens flare and this does just that at half the price. Thanks ADORAMA!!!

the hood i recieved didnt have the flocking that some have gotten, not a bad thing tho. this hood does whats its supposed to do, block light. its a bit snug, but does go on and off of the lens easily. for the price its great, it blocks light, and procects the front of the lens.

I have a Canon Hood for the 105mm macro. I needed one for the 50mm, and decided to get this one to try. It looks as good as the Canon brand. Well built and does not look cheap. It is perfect. I see no reason to spend more to have the Canon name on it.

One of the most important accessories for each lens you own. A lens hood provides multiple functions: it shades the lens from stray light, improving your contrast and image quality; in inclement weather, it can assist in keeping moisture or wind-blown debris off the lens; and it protects the front barrel from the inevitable impacts against walls, door frames, and other real-life obstacles.
