With this lens hood I was very disapointed. First it doesn't screw on like the others and it always fall off when you accidentally hit it with anything. Not to happy looking for another kind to used.

The hood is very nice, seems to be durable it doesn't feel cheap, although it is. It attaches very easily to the lens (85mm in my case). The only thing that I don't like is the model number printed on it (ET-65 III) it looks bad.

It does a good job. It's tricky to attach and is fairly flimsy, but it's what you get for the price.

For the price it's perfect! A little tricky to attach but once on it's perfect. I don't think the Canon version would attach any easier as it's actually the lens itself that doesnt have th ebaynet style hood scew.

If I had the choice, I would buy the Canon hood, as it fits better.

It doesn't fit very well on the Canon 85mm f1.8. I wish I had purchased the OEM hood instead.

Light and easy to use under rough conditions. May not be durable. Does not give max cover to lens.

The hood has to be wrestled into place, and once there, its clips don't fit properly into the groove on the lens, so it's not locked into place and is easily knocked off the lens by any minor jostling. Useless. A $5 rubber screw-on would be better.

clips looks weak and breakable...difficult to install every time ...but it's the only choice you have since the canon hood is on back order from the Mfr. for more than 4 months...anyway,,install it carefully,be gentle with the clips and everything will be fine ..it will do the purpose.

Having checked out the prices, this item is without doubt the very best value for money, why pay more for the same thing.

Clip broke 1 day past 14 day returnable date. Hood is difficult to install, must be forced over the lens. Would definitely go with Canon brand.

Great to see Adorama providing a reasonably priced alternative to what Canon should be providing as part of the cost of a lens. Works great and does the job at a significantly lower price. Kudos to Adorama!

Good price cheaper than Canon product. what you get what you pay. Canon product is much better than this item.

One of the most important accessories for each lens you own. A lens hood provides multiple functions: it shades the lens from stray light, improving your contrast and image quality; in inclement weather, it can assist in keeping moisture or wind-blown debris off the lens; and it protects the front barrel from the inevitable impacts against walls, door frames, and other real-life obstacles.
