This is not a supremely made item, but it is perfectly functional, a real bargain, and if it falls into the lake, it won't break your bank to replace it!

This is a poorly fitting poorly made product. I am afraid to apply the force necessary to mount it. I will not be using this hood on my nice canon lens!

Is not bad for the price, it does what it's supposed to do, without the premium.

I ordered three hoods at once, for three different lenses. The ones for my 70-300 and 10-22 worked fine (after some minor tweaking with an x-acto knife to shave off extra plastic bits.) This one, however, is just poorly designed. To fit in the "shooting" position, it requires enough force that I am concerned about damaging the lens. It will not fit in the backward (storage) position at all. Too far out of tolerances to bother to try to fix with an x-acto knife. I'll be ordering the Canon instead. Avoid this, it's junk.

One of the most important accessories for each lens you own. A lens hood provides multiple functions: it shades the lens from stray light, improving your contrast and image quality; in inclement weather, it can assist in keeping moisture or wind-blown debris off the lens; and it protects the front barrel from the inevitable impacts against walls, door frames, and other real-life obstacles.
