The Adorama lens hood is a great value above the Canon version. It fits the Canon 18-135 STM lens perfectly, locks in place securely and reverses on the lens for storage. It's plenty sturdy and represents a true value for the cost.

Another great product that Adorama sales rep suggest that works like a charm. Good to know they don't try and just sale you anything.

I use this lens hood on my Canon Ef-S 18-135mm STM lens. I mated almost perfect to my lens. For its price, this is 3 times cheaper than Canon verson. Why buy the orignal when the generic version is equal or greater product performance.

The hood works well and attches easily to the lens. I really love the Canon hoods more, especially with the nice lining, but for the price, it's just fine.

Although not as heavyweight as more expensive hoods, this one works just fine.

Why pay for the brand name when this hood works just as well?

Also fits the canon 18-135mm kit lens. I did not want to spend [$] on the canon one and was leary of the [$] specials on [@]. I figured coming from Adorama the quality would be better. It fits great, threads are secure and line up well. Very pleased with the price and quality.

Lens hoods are important to protect the lens from stray light, but also from damage. This one was 1/4 the price of Canon and appears to me same quality and fit.

Personally, I find the lens hood a bit too flimsy and it doesn't lock tightly onto the lens. For the price, I think it's a good deal because it really does get the job done.

The Canon EFS 17-85 IS f/4-5.6 USM lens didn't come with a hood. The Adorama dedicated hood fits perfectly, functions as it should, and is more reasonably priced than the "Canon" version. I live in sunny Florida so a lens hood is important. I generally stick to Canon accessories for my Canon gear, but I figure4d this was a modest investment for a low risk. It turned out this was a justifiable exception to the rule.

This lens hood works OK but the hood does not retain its position on the lens very well. Although it fits kinda snug it locks in place very loosly and rotates off easily. Bottom line is that it works OK and is worth the [$] as long as you double check its position every once in a while. It is not the best lens hood by far, but for the price it does its job very well.

Not quite as thick as the name brand piece but it works fine for half the price. If you need something more rugged go with the name brand item.

Purchased the Adorama lens hood for the Canon EF-S 17-85mm IS USM Lens. Works great. Don't spend the extra money to get the Canon version.

This is the perfect hood for my lens. It provides the proper light entry while cutting out excessive corner light. It reverses easily so it can be stored right on the lens with out increasing the length.

This hood feels a little flimsy and the mount doesn't feel exactly right but it works just as well as any other brand. You can mount it backwards on the lens for storage. For the price it's a good buy.

For less than half the price of the OEM Canon version its great, it is better than the non canon specific models because it actually fits the lens tabs. It however does not feel as strong as the OEM canon. and has a little "loose" feel to it. overall it is worth the money.

One of the most important accessories for each lens you own. A lens hood provides multiple functions: it shades the lens from stray light, improving your contrast and image quality; in inclement weather, it can assist in keeping moisture or wind-blown debris off the lens; and it protects the front barrel from the inevitable impacts against walls, door frames, and other real-life obstacles.
