are all 6 interior sides padded, (top, bottom, sides and ends)? Is it enough padding to safely put in 3 or 4 studio lights?
For $30 its hard to really bash this bag. I was going to return it, but would not get a dollar back after shipping (paid both ways), so I decided to keep it and make modifications.
To answer your questions - it is padded on all sides, and should fit 3-4 monos, depending on their size. Now for the issues. The bottom does not have enough padding or structure to safely transport your equipment. Put in 3-4 lights and you will have too much weight, and the bag ends will come up towards the handles. I will need to add a hard plastic bottom insert for support and more padding to the bag for adequate protection, once I decide how I can do that. Adding that insert will cover up the velcro strips for the dividers. The three dividers, while adjustable, are very short, presumably so the top insert can be placed on top of them for stands, etc. They are also only set up for one direction - horizontal - so if you have long lights they may not work for your setup.
For the price, its really hard to complain and Adorama shipped this to me free. You get a large bag of decent construction. As far as this being a useful bag, for me its really not. I may just end up using it for stands, umbrellas and soft boxes. Then look for a bag for my monos.
