Does the Job

Very sturdy and will hold up in average wind. Instruction booklet about set=up would have saved me, the mechanically handicapped, time. Does require strength on hands to tighten/untighten the telescoping sections (which will creep down if not fully tightened). I have used this stand for holding an umbrella reflector and an off camera flash. Have used it only outdoors. It does what I need it to do.

Not bad not great

This is a decent unit for lightweight lights. Mine was missing a fastener between the shaft and stem so my speed light would spin and was loose. After I placed a rivet in the hole it was better but the stem is still loose. This is a great accessory for mobile shooting when an assistant or student is not available.

dependable at low cost

i had used this product twice already. one from a house blessing and another for a big company party. im an ammature photographer and this is one of my hobby. i like to take portrait, family and group pictures. this lightstand is very useful for me. it holds my 36" umbrella real good, its lightweight and i like the color black. its also air cushioned so your fingers are safe from any injury. i just wish it can handle more weight and that you can add wheel accessory to it.

Cost Effective Lighstand

By

I have four units of this light stand. Light and cost effective for mounting Einstein 640 and large reflector that does not require high elevation. The air cushioned protects from accidental loosening of the nuts.

Good product for the price.

I use it as stand for my new Flashpoint 620 moonlight. I like the air cushioned feature, no more pinching my fingers my lowering the stand height. Made and looked sturdy.

Great Stand

By

Haven't tried this outdoors yet, so I'm holding it to 4 stars, but for indoor work it's just what I needed: Stable extended to full height, solidly built and put together. I doubt you'll find better value at anywhere near this price-point. Is it solid enough for Joe McNally? Maybe not -- but for a small studio this Flashpoint stand works nicely for an off-camera strobe or mono-light. I'll be hitting the boss up to get one or two at work, too. (I take a lot of photos in the course of my job even though that's not the central focus, and I made this purchase for my own purposes.)

I typically use it for a stand to support a LED light. It's light weight and sets up easily.

Fits my needs

Beginner photographer and just starting to use external lighting. Purchased this along with a flashpoint monolight. Sturdy enough for my uses, compact enough to take up minimal space in my truck, and easy to use.

I use this stand for art photography. Easy to set up and take down and safe for my lights. I wish it would have come with a bag.

Questions about this item:

Carlos E  Can I use this light stand to hold up an AB B400 with a FlashPoint 24x36 PZ softbox?
ROBERT C  Not exactly familiar with the equipment you mentioned but these lightstands are sturdy. I think you could put a 24x36 softbox on it. The stand doesn't reach to 7' though.
Carlos E  That's great to know!
