Not able to afford a true macro lens at this time, I had been looking for a 10x close-up for several months. The first one I ordered cross-threaded on my UV filter and refused to come off. I used it anyway, and loved the almost abstract look I was able to get when photographing flowers, trees, bugs, etc. However, after a particularly windy NE day, the 2 filters became 'filled' with debris. As I couldn't separate the 2, I couldn't clean them. So, I ordered another one. This one went right on, so I am still enjoying it. For the price, it is a good thing. Just be careful when first using it.
The lens in not made by Adorama. It's made in India by a brand called Nisha. I didn't expect the best quality from a [$] lens accessory. But I atleast expected the said magnification. Nope, serves me right for buying cheap. Avoid at all cost!
