The Adorama 250D/500D series close-up lenses incorporates a double-element achromatic design for maximum optical performance, while the standard 500 series features single-element construction for maximum economy. The 250 close up lenses changes the closest focusing distance from infinity to 250mm/approx. 9.9", and the 500 close up lenses changes it to 500mm/approx. 19.7".

Very nice quality, but in early usage seems limited to fairly flat images and short focusing distance (about 9-14 inches). I used this on a Canon 85 mm 1.8 lens with a T4i and found that the crop factor and medium-telephoto effect of the lens gives more magnification than is useful to me. I also tried it with a 50 mm 1.4 and found the results to be better - I could get a slightly larger object to fit in the frame, and a little more range of distance to work with. For a crop sensor, this might work best with a 35-40 mm to give a better balance of image size on sensor and a little more field of view. Otherwise, you may find the focus point to be too small, or mainly useful for flat images and objects.
