About Moshi

The iLynx 800 Advanced FireWire 800 / USB 2.0 Combo Hub from Moshi is a FireWire/USB combo hub that plugs into your iMac to provide four downstream USB 2.0 ports (backward compatible with USB 1.1) and two FireWire 800 ports (backward compatible with FireWire 400). It supports data transfer speeds of up to 800 Mbps.

Equipped with DPS (Dynamic Power Sharing) technology, the iLynx 800 can support simultaneous operation of high power peripheral devices such as an external hard disc or DVD drives without the need for a power adapter. The iLynx 800 combines desktop extension performance and reliability with a sleek, low profile design.

FABIAN F  I am using mine with a 2009 24" iMac. There is no reason why it would not work with a 2011 27" iMac, or any Mac that has a FireWire 800 port.
