Being a pro photograhper, I must admit that I was biased towards my camera brand when buying binoculars. The decision did not disapoint me, as I found the same pros on this product as I do on my cameras: excellent optical quality and inteligent ergonomics.You will be aware of where the [$] are, once you look through the Monarchs for the first time: OUTSTANDING clarity, excellent contrast, a definition you might not believe... rich, full colors. Detail seems to spring out on you. My only complain is regarding the lousy, cheap, and not very brightly resolved caps, specially the rear ones, which will simply not hold at all and will come lose with unnerving ease.The build also looks a little cheap on very close inspection, mostly the plastic parts and specially the shaft that joins both barrels together. Nothing terrible, though.I have handed these to people who are not familiar with quality binoculars to have a sight and their immediate reaction has been to comment on how outstanding the image looks. "These must be really expensive binocs", has been the compulsory phrase. Which they are really not, considering the excellent quality.I am very pleased with this purchase

I use these hunting mainly, but I have found they'll do most anything you want like birdwatching, etc... I think they're a great in between binocular. Not too big, not too small.

Just returned from a hunting trip to Wyoming and could not be happier with the performance of my Nikon binoculars. Best binoculars I have ever owned and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a quality set of binoculars.
