I've had this lens on my D300s for about eight months - not constantly, but frequently. It's extraordinarily sharp, focusses quickly and handles well in low light. As everyone comments, it's a great portrait lens. The defocus control is subtle, but it produces beautifully soft bokeh. I bought my 105-DC as a refurb, and I'm convinced that's the way to go. Nikon does an excellent refurbishing job, probably paying closer attention to individual refurbishing than they're able to with newly manufactured equipment. Mine seems flawless. In addition to portraits, you'll want to take this lens to small venue concerts - it's a great performance lens too.
