Couldn't get it to work

I tried to get the adapter to work with my D80 and a traditional studio strobe set up. At first I thought the sync cord might be bad, so I swapped it out for a new one....nothing doing. I think the electronics in the hot shoe have gone beyond their usefulness trying to zoom and meter with a lens that only works with a Nikon SpeedLight. Maybe my electronics are fried, but I had to return the item.

Does the job!

Really simple device that does its job: links your hot shoe to a strobe. Its compact and "plug and play".

Very handy

The modern cameras lack this connector so this is a systems save

Nikon vs the rest

This may be a little more expensive than others but it is worth the extra $$. They last and don't breakdown in the middle of a photo shot.

Works Great

I Am A Dragracing Photographer ...And Use It To Fire My Side Lights ... And They Fire When Commanded Via My .. Nikon AS-15

Very nice just what I needed

just what I needed

What Nikon left out

This is a must for those older Flash units.

The part Nikon forgot

Must have for older Flash Units.

Now I can use my old studio flashes

I finally made the switch to a digital SLR but found that they don't have PC sync terminal for studio flashes. Since I have Nikon equipment, I was please to find that I could buy a Nikon AS 15 for a very low price so that I could dust off my old studio flashes.

Add simple, reliable, PC connection

I needed a simple, inexpensive way to make use of a studio lighting kit that connects with PC connector with my Nikon D90, which has not PC. The Nikon AS-15 is sturdy, reliable, easy to use, and a great value that will work with your Nikon or other camera with standard hot shoe, but lacking PC connector.

What can I say

Thanks Adorama

Questions about this item:

Gary B  Do I need this AS-15 adapter to use a hand held speed light with my D90 and D7100 or will the command function on these cameras fire the speed light when it is hand held?
MICHAEL K  Unless I'm misunderstanding the question, if you are using a Nikon Flash, you don't need this. Just set your flash to remote on the flash unit and your flash settings on the camera menu to "Command." Make sure that the two are on the same channel. And you're good to go.
Gary B  Thanks Michael
Marie R  Can I use this on a speedlight? A SB-600 to adapt to my receiver to use it for off camera flash?
BONNIE T  Not sure if that will work. I only used it once with a sync cable to attach to my strobes. I didn't like it because the sync cable kept falling off the adapter. Bought remotes instead. Good luck!
Rachel P  Will this allow me to us my Nikon D90 with my Alienbee B800 strobe?
JASON G G  Yes. You just need the cord to connect it.
