Shopper : I plan on purchasing this to clip Roscoe strobist gels to my Sb700. Anyone tried utilizing the unit in this manner? BTW, this did not come with my Sb700 speedlite. Is this normal?WILLIAM S : It does not come with it. I ordered this along with a Rosco Laboratories 1100-STROB-KIT Strobist Cinegel Kit . Works just fine, only not the prettiest way to do it. It's not to not have it included... nikon penny pinch you on this, but if you are using it for properly, it's worth it.AHMED C : Yes this normal. The SB700 does not come with gels or the holder. The gels are consumable items. The say that you have to buy the holder separately but when i ordered my Nikon gels and SZ-3 holder from Adorama, the box that held the gels also had an SZ-3 holder in it. So now I have 2 holders. But I am not sure this is normal or they sent me an extra one by mistake. The only issue with using a different brand gels may be that they may not be cut out for this holder, in which case you may have to cut them yourself.LARRY G : Yes, that is how I have used this. It works well. My SB700 didn't come with this holder either.
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?Kenneth J : Different filters to balance light. IE if you are shooting in a room with florescent light and use the camera flash with out a florescent filter you will have a tough time balancing the light temperature in Lightroom or Photoshop. Also some occasional special effects.
