As a landscape photographer, I set up on beaches ALL the time & unfortunately this time my tripod got tipped over by a rogue wave while I was looking through the viewfinder. Being top heavy, the lens & body tumbled down -- luckily I caught it before it actually hit the ground, but not before some water got caught in the lens hood and penetrated the optics of the lens. I have the full Drops & Spills warranty and was REFUSED because it is "not an accident when a wave knocks over the camera." Do NOT BUY this warranty from New Leaf. Even though their website states, "We focus on being a customer-centric operation by creating an environment where customers actually get what they believe they paid for," I have not found that to be the case.

The price is extremely reasonable for the protection it offers for five years. Nikon covers the lens, but New Leaf covers it for drops and spills, etc.

Peace of Mind

Hopefully I won't ever need to use it but having this 'Drops & Spills' coverage for 5 years definitely gives me plenty peace of mind. "That's Good Stuff" and it equates with a 4 star rating that will be 5 if it comes into use.

SAM G  Not a bad deal for $40. Although we are always careful with our gear its the occasional tourist that my bump into you with a soda or snowball. If I am spending over 1k I advise the insurance policy.
