After my HDMI port failed, I contacted service to get it repaired. They requested that I went through Lenovo first as the laptop was less than a year old. Lenovo determined that the HDMI port failed due to water damage. I then contacted New Leaf to have my laptop repaired under drops and spills. They will not honor the warranty. I know that I have taken the laptop to work from the bar a few times, but I don't remember any spill on the laptop. It's possible that some condensation or liquid on the table got into the port. But because I cannot remember an specific incident, they are refusing to honor the warranty.
