Novoflex MBAL Leveling Ball with 15deg. Movement in all Directions, Single Lever Lock

Smallest, lightest ball head replacement for use in action photography that I could find. This one is more compact, less than half the height and third less weight than my Arcratech GP ss. Which itself is the lightest ball head able to carry heavy loads. Replacing it with this leveling head was possible thanks to the unique quick release lens foot design of Sony 100-400. The foot now can be attached directly to this item, eliminating the need for additional clamp and Arca plate for quick on/ off of the camera with large lens. Top rocker part moves smoothly, not like other leveling heads which are stiff to move even in fully open position. Accidentally, I discovered a strange design flaw. If you can call it that. One of my monopods has the threaded stub about two threads too long. Locking lever of MBAL cannot move at all if the leveling head is tightly screwed onto it. Somehow the pressure of the long stub against the gear box interferes with the movement of locking lever. I resolved it by adding a piece of cardboard as a washer on the stub. With my other monopod this problem does not exist.
