Every once in a while you buy a product that exceeds expectations, and this was one of those for me. As a first time projector owner, I could not be more pleased. Did not want to deal with conventional bulbs and their issues, so this 500 lumen LED model fit the bill. I've done both 120" and 133" with no trouble ... the latter having definite wow factor. Our kids absolutely love it for watching BluRay. Have also fed it with an ATV2, Popcorn Hour, and MC7/HD Homerun which work equally well. Great product overall with no downside that I've found.

I purchased this projector to replace my Phillips Bsure. The cost of the Optoma ML500 was about the same price as two bulbs for the old projector. I am not sure why the 500 lumens of the new projector is as bright as the 1700 lumens of the old one. The picture is incredible. Great resolution, bright picture, multiple inputs, fairly quiet operation. No bulb to replace! Since it mounts on a tripod, I cut a cheap one up to create a ceiling bracket for it. The down side generally involved things that I do not use. There is a USB and SD slot that can be used to play media without a PC. That would be useful if there was an audio out channel. Since the audio stinks (on all projectors), this feature is useless. Similarly, the S-video and RCA video jacks will go unused by me. There is no control for picture size or horizontal keystone so you have to be sure to center the projector and mount it at the top (or bottom) of the screen. I am using only HDMI and power. To get the cables out of the way, I have mounted raceway. Be sure to have cables that are long enough for this installation.

Mobile professionals and on-the-go presenters alike will appreciate the compact design and vivid LED performance of the Optoma ML500. Delivering 500 lumens of brightness and WXGA resolution, this projector creates crisp, clear widescreen images of up to 120 inches on most surfaces. Built-in media and Microsoft Office document viewer allows for playback of videos, presentations, documents and images directly from the projector's memory, while HDMI provides quick connection to the broadest possible range of devices.
