adapter ring fits Balcar/Paul C Buff just fine. However, the mount for the softbox is physically larger in diameter than the S-Type that came with the Interfit medium soft boxes I have here. Result is that the poles are further out from center, which in turn makes it impossible to close the velcro flaps at the mount. The answer to this problem is easy enough, but should never be required: Drill the rib pole holes deeper, from 0.550" to 0.690" which effectively shortens the spread of the poles, and allows the velcro to overlap with *just* enough coverage to stay in place. For the money these cost, they should work without issue. Find a ring that fits your existing adapter rather than buying this item.

excellent fit, ring moves smoothly and the ring will accept any soft box, strip box that I have as well as the Chimera collapsible beauty dish.

I bought this to attach an Interfit softbox to my Alien Bees strobes. This fit perfectly.
