About Interfit Photographic Super Cool-lite 4

Interfit's Super Cool-lite 4 One-Head Fluorescent Kit not only gives you soft, cool light in a compact kit, it uses 1/4 the energy of tungsten lights. The Super Cool-lite head holds four 28W fluorescent bulbs balanced to "near daylight" 5200K. This 112W is equivalent to 400W of tungsten light, without the heat. The included 24 x 24" (60 x 60 cm) softbox is ideal for the soft, nearly shadowless light often used for portraits and product photography. A 16" (40cm) diameter high contrast reflector gives you the option of more direct, contrasty light. Two power leads and an informative educational DVD round out the kit.

Interfit Photographic Super Cool-lite 4 Features

  • Fluorescent lights produce soft, cool, continuous light
  • 112W of fluorescent "near daylight" 5200K light equal to 400W of tungsten light are produced by the light head
  • One 24" (60 cm) square softbox provides soft, controlled light
  • A 16" (40cm) diameter high contrast reflector gives you the option of more direct, contrasty light
  • Energy-efficient fluorescent lamps use 1/4 the energy of equivalent tungsten lamps

Nice lights for the price

Easy set up, nice DVD with lights tells you all you need to know. Wish the lights came with a stand. We use these same lights in our photography club events

Questions about this item:

Lee B  what light stand would I need for this?
Scott B  Any standard lightstand will work just fine.
Shopper  Is there a grid available?
BILL B  no
Shopper  Can this unit take higher than the recommended 28W fluorescent bulbs? I understand the unit may become hot but would this cause and harm? What would be the max wattage?
REBECCA B  I haven't tried to use a higher watt bulb in this unit, so I can't absolutely say that you couldn't. But I don't think I would. The physical size of the soft black cover would mean that the bulbs would extend beyond the front edge, which would eliminate using the diffuser. Also, the four 28 watt bulbs do get somewhat warm, so I would think that a higher watt bulb could be too hot and might even damage the soft cover. I don't have the metal reflector on the unit, so I can't address that.
