• The AG-AC160 - A Premium Choice for HD Image Capture: Offering the same functionality as the AC130A, the premium AG-AC160A provides these additional top production features: variable frame rate recording in 1080p for slow and fast motion recording, Linear PCM audio, HD-SDI output, and switchability between 59.94Hz/ 50Hz for worldwide use.
• 1080/60p and 50p Recording: In addition, the 160A can record in 1080/60p and 50p (maximum 28Mbps in PS mode). Because the MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 codec provides a doubling of bandwidth efficiency and improved video performance over the older MPEG-2 compression-based formats, recordings look crisp even during fast motion without image degredation.
• High-Quality AVCHD Image Quality: The AC160A records video in four pro AVCCAM HD recording modes, including the highest-quality PH mode (average 21 Mbps/Max 24 Mbps); the HA mode (approx.17 Mbps); the extended recording HE mode (approx. 6 Mbps); and a PM mode (approx. 8 Mbps, 720p only), which is ideal for shooting sports training and Web video.
• High-Performance 2.2 Million Imager: Equipped with high-sensitivity, low-noise 1/3", Full HD 2.2 megapixel Ultra Luminance Technology (ULT) 3-MOS imagers and a 20-bit Digital Signal Processor, this camera delivers superb low-light images in native 1920 x 1080 resolution.

In HA and HE modes, it records in 1080/59.97i, while in DV, these solid-state units record at 480/59.94i, 480/29.97p, 480/223.98p.
• Addittional Recording Options: The AC160A also records in 1080/50i and 1080/25p, 720/50p and 720/25p, and 576/50i and 576/25p.
• New Focus Assist Functions: In addition to conventional focus-in-red assist, improved functionality in the AC160A includes expanded focus assist and "turbo speed" one-push autofocus. Focus assist enables the camera to zoom in on the picture to check focus. Turbo-speed one-push auto focus ensures that the camcorder quickly attains focus.
• Create Fast and Slow Motion Effects: The camera provides 22-step variable frame rate capability in 1080/23.98pN, 29.97p and 25p to support undercranking/overcranking for fast or slow motion effects. The AC160A offers variable frame rate recording in 1080p.
• Extended Record Times: Record for up to 12 hours on two 64GB SDB cards in PH mode, with automatic clip spanning across the two cards. In 6Mbps HE mode, the AC160A can record for up to 48 hours.
