Extremely versatile camera

from USA  -  Pro Videographer

BIG abilities in a SMALL package! It's basically a 3MOS full featured camera in a miniature package which means you can use it to get all kinds of shots you couldn't otherwise manage with a traditional video camera. That means you can essentially have a virtual camera man in places you can't physically put a camera man due to space limitations, danger or distractions while the operator is either 10 or 65 feet away. That is a HUGE plus. NOTE: The AVCCAM recorder HMR10 is required to be connected to this camera as it records the video and controls ALL cameras functions. Whether shooting weddings, medical procedures, events, etc... this thing can be remotely controlled from up to 65 feet away (using the optional cable). It can be mounted on a vehicle, pole, remote head, jib, tripod, or by hand. The possiblities are huge. While in good light and outdoors it produces a phenonominal image, but indoor in low light it struggles (like the AG HMC40). The stock lens has a great smooth zoom, but doesn't start out wide enough for certain POV type shots, so I bought a cheap wide angle lens adapter that solved that problem. Go ahead and plan on getting the optional and expensive LCD hood for the HMR10 recorder so you can see it outside and also the optional stand which is is basically an adapter that gives the recorder a standard 1/4-20 tripod mount that it otherwise lacks. The camera itself has a atandard 1/4-20 tripod mount. Besides all the special uses, we also pair it up with our HMC150s during normal shoots as an extra camera and the footage intercuts nicely with the other Panasonics. Paired with the HMR10 recorder, it's got built-in zebras, waveform, ND, WB settings and can do 1080 24P, 30P, 60i and 720 24P,30P 60P.
