The Polaroid Pistol Grip Table Top Tripod combines the functions of a stationary camera support and those of a simple handheld video rig. As a table top tripod, the plate of the Pistol Grip sits 4" from a table or other flat surface. It attaches to the bottom of a point & shoot, DSLR, or compact camcorder by way of its 1/4"-20 screw and there's also a retractable video pin to provide additional stability for camcorders.

To switch to handheld mode, simply fold back the two front legs of the hardened PVC tripod until, when flush with the rear leg, they form an ergonomically grooved pistol grip. This provides a comfortable way to shoot video over long stretches. In either tripod or handheld mode, the camera plate tilts forward up to 110deg.. Engaging a button on the side of the unit frees this motion; along its full tilt range it ratchets and locks into place.
