I use this product as a photo album. I can format family pictures free-form, sizing images according to my likes and can also use my favorite photo paper. This arrangement is much more attractive than the pocket type albums, almost like a published book. Best of all I can orient all my images in one direction for a more cleaner look. A lot less shelf space is used than the 3 ring binders in which the pages can be damaged from overuse. This form of photo album is a little expensive yet much cheaper than some of the "archival" albums on the market. The pages are probably just as long lasting. The only question I have is the durability of the vinyl album cover. I have older, cheaper vinyl albums that have split at the seams after about 10 years, so I have been keeping the plastic coverings on to prevent out gassing of the vinyl. The binder extender screws are not easy to load. Instead I have standardized by removing all the white scrap book sheets. This way I can fit 25 inserts for a 1 1/4" album. That's 50 pages with an average of 150 pictures in a book. The black covers are a good neutral color. I use the burgundy for albums I give away. Problem: Adorama makes me rate only one color album at a time! Would rather see one entry for this product and a color choice selector inside.
